The leading epidemiologist from Imperial College said he had made an "error of judgement" in a statement announcing his departure.

As a prominent member of SAGE, his resignation represents a blow for the group and ministers he is helping guide policy around the pandemic.
"I accept I made an error of judgement and took the wrong course of action," he said.
"I have therefore stepped back from my involvement in SAGE.

"I acted in the belief that I was immune, having tested positive for coronavirus and completely isolated myself for almost two weeks after developing symptoms.

"I deeply regret any undermining of the clear messages around the continued need for social distancing to control this devastating epidemic.
 
All over Twitter. Been sleeping with a married woman and having her over to his house. She claims because her marriage is a open relationships the Ferguson's house and her marital home are the same household. Bet her kids are thrilled to bits that mummy will be on every newspaper tomorrow. Also her husband must be well pleased that his wife has outed him as a pussy.

Tell me why are we supposed to believe this lockdown is the right thing to do when the people who tell is to do openly flout the rules?

I'd like it explained why when the PM went to Chequers instead of Downing Street after leaving hospital, and Carrie left Downing Street to join him at Chequers, that wasn't breaking the rules? Ditto HM and entourage going to Windsor from Buck House and Charles going up to Balmoral

It's all starting to come crashing down.

The cabinet and their associates will be flapping around tonight and for the rest of the week. This Ferguson scandal along with the rumoured decrease in the job retention payments and the fact that our apparent leader has ****ed off yet again when questions need answering I can seriously see it kicking off if we don't get the answers we need this week.

Are the SAGE committee saying only 4% of the population have had the virus, but conveniently one of their members had the virus weeks ago, obviously its higher than 4% on their committee.

"Error of Judgment" is that a middle class/scientific way of saying "I broke the law and I am a complete hypocrite".

The front pages of the Tory press will love the opportunity to distract from the govts shortcomings with a sex scandal. I notice they say Ferguson was having an affair with a married woman as a slur on her, whereas Carrie Symonds having an affair with, living with and having a baby to a married man is OK
 
Sad man.

The bitterness on this thread is laughable. Captain Cull (Kuepper) and Farting like it’s 1920. People are allowed to start a relationship whilst still married but the relationship has ended. Welcome to 2020.

Actually start to feel sorry for some of these on here. It’s like everyday on a football message board sat round with the same dozen or so people thinking it makes a difference or that the wider public agree. I would try getting a job if you are currently unable to work, get a hobby and try get off here it’s not good for your health.

Anyways I’m off to work, try not to get too stressed out today. I’m sure you can find something else to get enraged about

And it has knocked the headline regarding us now being second highest death rate off the front pages

As you were (getting more enraged)

An affair is a sexual relationship, romantic friendship, or passionate attachment between two people without the attached person's significant other knowing.

It's always about timing. Wonder when these visits actually took place.
Sheer coincidence that the story appeared in print the morning after the UK became the country with the biggest death toll in Europe.
