Conte comments on Spence

Conte possibly decided he may not quite be first team ready and is onl focused on proven high level talent and doesn't get involved in project buys thus the buck stops at Levy.

Probably harsh but I think this arguably shows Spence cares less about the football and more about the "status" of being a footballer. Either that or he's just not very bright and/been badly advised. If true it's a terrible move from a footballing perspective to go to a club where, not only would it be hard to get in the team anyway, but where the manager doesn't really want you.

But presumably he just wanted to go to a "big club" in London regardless of playing opportunities. Pretty sure other clubs would've been interested and would've been better for his development (eg Dortmund perhaps?) but seems very much like he just didn't want to know.

Only problem is if that story is true (big if?) Then Boro are going to be wondering where the other £7.5 million has gone
According to nearly every report I've read it's £12.5 million up front, with "add-ons" that could total £20 million eventually.

That's what the headline refers to, not the initial fee.

If Conte doesnt use him though we get 12.5M which means we miss out on any chance of the extra 7.5Min add ons was what I was trying to put in a slightly humerous way (admittedly it wasnt very funny)

It would be quite amusing if he tears it up there after all the predictions of how terrible he is going to get on.

Hopefully lifts up his shirt to reveal a “fck off fmttm” message to ensure maximum board meltdown when he fires Spurs to their first major trophy in donkeys.

Conte has said that he never had any interest in signing Spence and it was a club decision. Interesting..

I can't imagine Conte being the type of manager to change his lineup to include a player the club have signed over his head, especially when he has spent all summer playing Lucas Moura as a right wing back and he has openly stated that he sees him in that position moving forward.
Hahahahahahaha!

Welcome to the Spurs stiffs Djed Spent.

Maybe he'll get loaned to Tooting & Michem as Issy's replacement.

I think this is a bit of a storm in a teacup really, plenty of clubs identify players to a managers specification, especially this with more of a traditional 'coach's' role, in the continental sense.

He will have had the final say and he's quoted as giving the transfer the OK too.

Given that DJ has been linked since the Mourinho days, it's no surprise that he's one that the Spurs recruitment have identified.
Agreed, also think there's an element of lost in translation, perhaps deliberately to create a story.
