Conservative MP Peter Amess stabbed in Essex attack

Below is what I got yesterday on this very forum - I'm not coming back on here, it's a Labour echo chamber and that's why awful stuff like this happens
It's clearly not a labour echo chamber there are lots of views, and there are more tories than labour in teh country right now so your comment makes no sense.

Rob needs to take a good look at himself as well
What on earth has Rob done?

Nope, I gave you the chance to be a decent honest poster, but this isn't going to work. blocked

No this is not about me, and this is not a condolence page so the discussion can be broadened, you want to know where the seeds of these extremists are sown?, It's message boards spouting there hateful angry rhetoric.unchecked. This is the perfect time for posters on here to reflect on the tone and words of their posts. A kinder gentler politics indeed.
Take a long hard look at yourself. You quote kinder politics but your looking for an argument on a thread we’re people are paying their respects. Why don’t you inbox them people rather than virtue signal on this thread

Awful - regardless of which political party you support, this is beyond extreme and tragic.
Agree, but don’t you think this has been coming given the tone in the country and voting that’s set up the Tories to win creating desperate individuals and then people who are genuinely sick to act in ways that are deplorable

There is a deeper aspect to all of this and if we don’t link the connections we learnt nothing

Sir…. Maybe take the night off and come back in a few days when the dust has settled a little, if this is really a debate that you want to have.
You must appreciate that now is not the time and your point of view won’t be any less valid in a few days.
Step away from the keyboard…..or at least this thread, please.

The first thing i thought when i heard this was how awful it was a man just out doing his job and he ends up getting killed by some nutcase. The second thing i thought was some of the awful anti tory stuff i read on here yesterday and in fact similar stuff has been allowed to go on here for a long time now. :(

I’m sorry but people are angry about this government and rightly so as feelings are high.

but and let me stress that again that is no excuse none whatsoever for this tragic awful news today.

do don’t try and make the events of one mad lunatic a get of free card for this awful government.

that’s politics we all have the right to agree and disagree… but what happened today was murder pure and simple.

There's as much anti labour comments/abuse as there is anti tory on this board.

In fairly recent memory, a leader of a party in the UK sought a more measured political discussion in The House. He was vilified, mocked, and rejected at the polls in favour of a bombastic bully, who plays to a rabid base

Maybe this time round, a tragedy will lead to a more respectful house. The 1st time it happened, any improvements were very short lived

Imagine people being anti the party in charge for the last 10+ years and all the issues they've created and linking the this incident together

no one around here has said tories should be murdered so lets just be a bit more honest about it

well the persistent extremist views that anyone who is left of Tory is a commie for a start. What about the calls of traitors for anyone that wants to stay in the EU?

I've been labelled a commie on here, I mean it's ridiculous, childish and persistent.
I’ve not seen it - I see plenty of direct insults against those who voted brexit on a daily basis and plenty of anti Tory rhetoric - I mentioned an example from earlier today which I don’t want to repeat but that sort of thing is common place.
