Compendium of Games

I remember this but never thought of it as a Christmas collection. Going to have to start building a board game collection now we have a little one, so might have to buy one.

My mother in law bought my father in law Subbuteo last year, so we had a decent little tournament on Boxing Day! Gonna have to get Test Match Cricket this year I think

I guess your childhood missed out on the art of paper folding too then. Poor b***r.

Nobody could spell Origami never mind owt else.
If you had any square bits of paper in ouf house you used it for you know what !.
Last nights Gazette was used and hung up on a nail.
unless your dad had pinched some of the shiny ‘Jeyes‘ stuff from work.

Got to say Eziozi that in this thread you paint an interesting picture of your childhood. Its like the house in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. 10 to a bed including both sets of grandparents, one shouting death to The Japanese.

Our outside loo always had the gazette, I can't remember if the inside one did. Izal was brutal stuff though.

Knocky knocky hide oh, filled many a boring night.

I’ve not played a game of ludo for over 50 years. And yet I still remember it clearly. That anguish when you get taken just short of the finish.

In those formative years of playing I never realised the game was so named because ludo is Latin for “play”.
