Colour blindness

Many other afflicted on here?

I’m particularly interested if anyone has experience in the sun glasses appearing online which claim to allow you to see how the colours actually look!

Im red / green colour blind and it’s generally fine. Sometimes a nightmare when I struggle to tell the home and away teams if they have different shades of the above!

File alongside x-ray specs!

Knowing a little of the science of how we see colour I cannot imagine a mechanism/filter/whatever that would make this happen.

I'm really bad. Used to get conned in snooker regularly with the brown ball. Ended up following it every shot so I wasn't caught out.

Taught in schools and had full classes laugh at me for mistaking purple with blue. Literally have no idea.

When i was 12 was told I was one of the worst for colour blindness the optician had seen.

Edit- brown mixed up with red, not green. Although that can happen too!

That's what I feared.

https://enchroma.co.uk/ is one such site which takes you through a test then offers suggested glasses. Their trust pilot reviews aren't too great mind.

Think they first realised something wasn't quite right with mine when I used to paint horses green etc in primary school.

Left eye only as a result of a mountain bike accident, damaged optic nerve, so red green confusion and very dull colours. Also no peripheral vision in that eye. It was a nightmare at first because obviously it happened suddenly, but after about six months my brain adjusted reasonably well.
