College car park last night

Took ages to get out like
parked at or near customs house for 20 year. no bother till the norwich game got a window put out.

parking nearer the college now for safety . its a whole different ball game . from more or less getting on the a66 straight away . its a right chew now .

pity there wasnt a park and ride to teesside park for us north of the river. but that aint gonna happen

The College car park was horrendous to get out of last night.
Same sized crowd as last Cov night match, but totally different.
What the **** was happening on the exit road. Chaos

It's been much more difficult to leave that carpark since the new bridge over the dock entrance opened.

By the time a lot of people are getting back to their cars, the stadium carparks have opened and hundreds of cars are heading down there. Sheer weight of traffic unfortunately.

Took me an hour to get out. Didn't get home until midnight.

For night matches that's just not sustainable. I really need to find a better alternative for next season.

For some reason the car park was far fuller than for the league game (also a sell out) no idea why? The problem seemed to be the road works on Durham St. reducing the road to a single carriageway controlled by traffic lights. It was gridlocked by knuckledraggers driving down the wrong side of the road on Lower East St because they wanted to turn right so cars could go no where. Once people calmed down and sorted themselves out we got through and after that it wasn't too bad I was home in Darlo for about 11 ish.

My lads (didn't park in College Park) were back in Leeds 40 minutes before I got back to Richmond.
Thanks for explanation Muttley.

We sat for 40 minutes or so, kids fell asleep, which was a blessing, at least they weren't crying. Pretty sure it was the temporary lights, not crowd numbers.

30mins to get out of the back gate and round to the transporter then straight up riverside park to Newport. Home for a commiseration beer or 2 before 11pm

Usually get near to the back gate, but it was too full when we got to the car park. Still was good going by you, you'll have probably got home for the penalty shoot out if we'd equalised.

If the people at the back gate turned Left rather than right might have eased things a bit.
Also can you access the A66 Via sheperdsons way after the game?
