Any coffee lovers out there with experience of Stove Top coffee perculatory pots.
I have to say I can take or leave coffee - mostly plain Tea - the Mrs however is a big fan.
I though I would get her a proper coffee pot for the gas hob - with a grinder and beans etc.
Don't have the room for a countertop monster - else I would of got one.

I was heading in the direction of a Bialetti - being a ludditey type I I love old brands and will pay more for that - but Amazon reviews seem to bring in the quality as an issue now compared to days of old.
anyone have a stovey?

I got into this while living abroad - My GF brought me one out there and I've loved it ever since. We've got a couple of pots - small and large depending on who's drinking it. TBH - these days I can't be @rsed with the Phaff of grinding, I jusy buy the pre ground Lavazza

We've been using the Bialetti for years and have one here and in France. The smell of fresh coffee when you walk in is wonderful. I've just put a pot on to mask the curry smell from the madras I made yesterday.

The one we have in France is larger and of better quality but not by much.

I’ve got a Bialetti Moka stovetop that must be at least 20 years old and has been used pretty much everyday in that time. Change the seal every year or so and they’ll keep going for ever. I’ve got a decent grinder and use Square Mile coffee beans and it makes coffee as good as I’ve ever tasted, but pre ground Lavazza tastes fine too.

Lavazza is half the price in France than it is in this country and that was pre-Brexit. We come home with a year's supply of pre-ground coffee every summer - we have more coffee than wine.

Cheers chaps- I'll give the Bialetti a go after all- doesn't seem too pricey if it turns out to be garbage - I guess another plus is for an icon brand spare parts are available - next hunt is for some various beany beans ( taken on board reference to Lavazza which she normally uses ) for checking out over time.

How much you willing to spend?

A mate of mine has one of these and it's insane.

I have a Vietnamese coffee strainer and use my milk frothier for the coffee-house taste. However, I’ve been thinking of buying the Ethiopian coffee pot of late due to a visit or two to Ethiopian restaurants where the coffee experience is very different.

Love my Mocha pot, I won't have coffee at home any other way. We have a induction cooker, so had to be careful what we got, but Amazon have lots that work with induction, ours is a "Goodmorn" make, it makes lovely coffee.

The coffee man is James Hoffman - well so his followers say, including my son.

He is coffee through and through...we bought a Sage coffee machine for the boy when he moved to his own place - a Sage unit that he says is the best coffee he has ever had.

Here's a video by him - just for sh*ts and giggles.
