He’s scored a couple of tap ins, yes, and he’s a young lad just starting out in the game… but crikey, he looks a long way off the pace at this level in his all round play

Yes Millwall are a big side. Their No. 5 playing on the left of a central 3 was absolutely huge.Coburn wasn't the player to bring on today at that time. He isn't ready to handle the physicality of a side like Millwall, especially not in the way Wilder wants his strikers to play and especially not with a referee who seemed happy to let anything go as long as it wasn't by a striker in the oppositions box. Ikpeazu has a bit more experience and is a bit more physical than Coburn and is probably the player I'd have brought on if a substitution was forced. Didn't help that he wasn't warmed up at all before he came on either, he really should have been given a few minutes of a proper warm up during half time because he seemed to have to get himself warmed up during the match.
I think thars why having two mobile strikers worked so well for us in the first half, we seemed to be able to easily play around them. Coburn played exactly to their strengths and he didn't have the experience or physicality to beat them at their own game. Hopefully it'll help him learn, I just personally would have gone with Ikpeazu as he'd have been more likely to win those battles.Yes Millwall are a big side. Duncan's industry deserves one of our players putting the ball into an empty net.Harsh.... He's a completely different type of player than Sporar and Watmore. We suffered when both went off or tired.
Coburn is going to be a target man. I think Wilder said he'd have brought Uche on for his experience but he's only trained twice.
I thought Watmore was absolutely outstanding today. No suprise whatsoever that he tired. I'd love to see his sprint and distance stats
You are right about his education. Not sure he would necessarily have finished any of the first half chances though.Josh will learn more from that game, than the games he scored in. Getting used to different more physical defences, playing in a game which didn't have much flow to it.
Weirdly if he'd have played in the first half he probably would have put away a couple of the chances, but that's football.
He warmed up for the last 5 minutes (at least) of the half time break so can’t use that as an excuse. Was on the pitch doing warm up work with some back room staff.Coburn wasn't the player to bring on today at that time.
