Clear / translucent vinyl albums?

Funnily enough I just got an album on clear vinyl. It sounds good but it's hard to see if it's got dust on and tricky to see the gaps between tracks.

Got Rumours on clear vinyl. Looks mint. Sounds ok to me although I've seen a lot of people say clear vinyl suffers from poor sound quality.

I suppose the thing is that regular black albums are coloured as well. I think vinyl is clear/opaque.

My black version went missing somehow. Must've lent it out and not got it back.

Pet peeve of mine. In order of "sound clarity" for me it goes - black....transparent/coloured.

It's quite annoying that a number of "indies only" releases come out on coloured vinyl - good shops stock both and give a choice but it can be difficult to find black versions of new releases (without resorting to amazon).

Even Amazon doesn't always tell you. I just got a "special edition" that wasn't advertised as such.
