Claims Akpom has gone for 2.5 million Euros

Its only a great deal if we use the money wisely and buy someone decent. If we waste it on another spud it's pointless.

He’s going to Besiktas? They are Turkish champions, he could end up playing in the champions league this season.

That no mark Nmecha scored a bag full and is now worth 20m after filling the “run about and miss” role at boro for a year. I think it’s us.

To get a fee that covers outstanding book value is good. Hats off to Bausor and good luck to the lad out there.
That avoidance of the last two years of amortisation of his fee and two years of avoided wage is the equivalent of signing frankly a much better player and really helps FFP

Desperately need another body or two in now to cover the big lad.
We've signed 7 players: a goalkeeper, a centre back (presuming Bamba), a right sided defender, two attacking central midfielders, a wide forward and a centre forward.
Given the sale of Akpom and release of Ass and Fletcher, I will be absolutely stunned if we don't sign two strikers now.
I also think another wide forward/winger, a cover goalkeeper and a left sided defender will come in.
That would be no fewer than 12 new players.

As an existing core we already have Bola, Dijksteel, Fry, Hall, McNair, Morsy, Howson, Tavernier, Watmore.
There are also Fisher and Browne who would be first team squad players. (There is Stojanovic though he is likely to go out I guess).
Wing is out on loan at Wednesday and it appears Coulson will be loaned out and Spence sold

That leaves a squad of 23 and we would have a group of youngsters trying to force their way in too (Wood, Malley, Hackney, Coburn, Jones and at least one keeper). I personally hope Wood and Malley stay in the squad rather than go out on loan.

I think we will sign a good established striker and a young promising one on loan and a talented wideman. The goalie and left sided defender I think will be reliable cover.
Overall I can't help it, I am excited by the mix of players I think we will be seeing and those we wont have to any more too.

Still in the rare bracket of a Boro player scoring on his 1st home & away games or the mighty Boro, 39 games, 6 goals

Hope he does well, just hasn't worked out for him, but lets be honest here he's not the 1st striker we've bought that hasn't produced the goods
