I believe it's the latter - just a few quid less tax each month (as they just modify your tax code).

It works out approx £1.20 per week tax relief. And it's an adjustment on your tax code.

I don't think this is new, it's been available for anyone working from home previously. Im not sure how far back you can go but I have in my mind 6years but you would just have to check with the local tax office.

It was 4 years (i think) when I worked there and I did PAYE & Self Assessment

It's dead easy. Takes 1 minute in total if you've already got a gov.uk account, only NI number required.

It asks if you have to work from home due to Covid. I put in 18th March and I get tax relief for the last two weeks of that tax year and the whole year up to 6th April 2021

I think it’s new as in you don’t even have to prove how long you have worked from home. One day is enough
