Chuba Amechi Akpom

A striker who has scored 23 goals in 137 games, the majority playing in the Greek league. With a £3 million fee, wonderful stuff

That fee seems incredibly daft, he's done nothing in England and hasn't ripped up trees in Greece. No way is he worth £3m.

I'd be happier with this signing than Sanogo, but it seems like a big chunk of our transfer kitty for a gamble.

Got to give the lad a chance, but hopefully this is the young striker rather than Warnock's number 1 target?

Edit: Gazette reporting that he's Warnock's top target. Bit underwhelming if true.

Also, can't see the fee being anything close to 3 million euros. More likely a million with add ons for goals, promotion etc.

He played 70 minutes in a 2-1 win over Benfica in the Champions League qualifiers last night, so that would back up Warnock's comments about us knowing more on Wednesday.
He had a game to finish before signing.

Interesting choice of striker, I don't know a great deal about him but NW must think he fits the bill.

He will no doubt be called out after his 20 mins on the pitch by a lot of 'fans', although saying that I'm quite surprised that more haven't spoke out about Sam Morsey's performance last night.

Good job there's no fans in the stadium at the moment then.

Some of the comments about last nights game on the Facebook thread were unbelievable.

I know this might sound ridiculous (and I will get shot down for saying this), but I think Football Manager (the computer game) is pretty much the same level as real life football management nowadays. On the back of that statement and using my knowledge-base, I think that this is a bad move, not only in footballing terms but also financially. If it were me, which it could be in the future, I would hang onto the cash and wait for alternative options. We must be quite far down our list of potential targets now and if there is a larger fee involved, I would politely walk away. Without knowing the financial details of this deal, I feel that this deal has "risk" written all over it.

you sound like you weren't very impressed by Sam Morsey's performance last night.
