Can I just say his attitude has been absolutely first class and his performances In the friendly and 2 league games has been night and day compared to absolutely anything he put out under Warnock.
He's received absolute dogs abuse In his time here by our fans including myself but I'm willing to put my hands up and say I could be wrong about this one.
Sounds like he's forced himself into the reckoning and I'm more than happy now to have him as one of our five forwards.

I actually prefer what he brings to this system than Watmore (personal opinion don't attack) if you'd have said I'd be thinking that 3 weeks ago I'd have laughed at you!

Nothing to lose and everything to gain at the moment, and so far I have to say he’s used him time on the pitch brilliantly ! Long may it continue! Fair play to the lad 👍

Under Warnock it wasn't that he was particularly bad, he just didn't score goals ......which for a forward is kind of a fundamental part of your game. In his defence he didn't suit Warnock's system, and although he tried, put a shift in it just didn't work for him.
As with most fans I didn't expect him ever to pull on a Boro shirt again.....but fair play to him, he's come in played well and looks like to be given a second chance. Let's see how it pans out.

What!!! Under warnock would have been better using a wall as a target man (the role he played) … nothing stuck or looked like sticking

Stuck on Saturday
He also brought others into play
CW should have kept Forss on as it looked as if we would score the 3rd and 4th
Akpoms movement was good as well

Didn’t see sat, but will say he looked a different player against WBA. And he did do what u said when I seen him play.

Just didn’t do what Warnock wanted/expected of him when he brought him here. Clear that we never identified his strengths and appeared to play to his weaknesses

Haven't seen much of the second league game but I was impressed by his intelligent movement in the first game. Something he was plainly not allowed to do under Colin. Warnock had him playing as a static hold up Centre Forward and our midfield was so slow to join he rarely had a chance to hold the ball up which was invariably pinged at him straight out of defence and he would be mugged by the opposing CBs before he even had chance to get it under control.

Good to see he is prepared to put his all in even though he was basically shut out by Wilder in pre season. Hope it works out for him.

We improved on Satruday when Akpom came on and he contributed to that - he often provided a willing outlet and had the physical strength to hurt QPR by turning under challenges etc. For 25 minutes we almost dominated the game. Over the second half we had around 9 chances to their 2.

Can he continuing doing this I don't know but he looks like a good £2.5m striker at present and an improvement on Connolly, Sporar and Balugun

Forss took a big whack on the shin, he was hobbling a bit and had ice on his shin when he came out to clap the fans on 90. It was the right thing to take him off, but unfortunate that we had no reasonable options. Maybe 19 year old Kavanagh would have been a better option than 17 year old Sonny Finch for the bench?!

Should certainly start on Saturday.

He was absolutely awful under Warnock. What was it, two goals in five months or something? Five in a season. Two in two to start and then… nothing for months and months? Something like that. Just because he’s got his head down now - which is much to his credit - doesn’t excuse the poor return we’ve had out of him.

Long may his current performances continue. But let’s not rewrite history with him.

For all he has looked okay in the past 2 games, his career record and his previous performances for us indicate that he's nowhere near good enough for where we want to be going. I read a quote from Wilder that we were after x amount of forwards, but now that Akpom is back, we're after one less. Really disappointed in that quote and underwhelmed if he's going to be one of our go to strikers. We need better. Akpom has struck very lucky that we haven't been able to get much business done up front.

And therein lies the problem. He’s a striker who doesn’t score.

He’s looked busy. But he still hasn’t scored has he?

Apparently he’s been “sensational”. I’ve watched both game and I’ve just seen a bloke running about. Think people are getting carried away a tad. He wont score more than 5 goals this season.

Who’s said he’s been sensational?

At the moment, we need him. Simple as that. And if we continue to struggle to get other forwards in and up to pace, we'll continue to need him. As long as he gives his all, and helps the team, can't really complain too much.

In two half’s of footie!!??
Give him at least another half!

He’s already played a full season for us, scored 4. So two halves, a season, plus a fair few games when I was living in Hull too. He’s a dreadful striker. Would make a half decent winger or attacking mid, but is he **** a striker.

He’s only looking alright because he’s desperate for a club. Give him a full season he will miss chances that will cost us. I’ve seen him miss the target from 2 yards out countless times.
