Chris Wilder playoff points total.

When asked what was needed to make playoffs he initially said 73/74 points. After talking to the reporters he then jokingly went up to 80 before settling for around 74/75. 74 points would be four wins from 7 games. Hopefully the first one is tomorrow. (y)

Had a look at the last few years. From 2010 sixth place has been 70, 75, 75, 68, 72, 78, 74, 80, 75, 74, 80, 77!

I think we’ll need 77 as a minimum

I have looked at the fixtures and guessed at this

Forest on 80
Uddersfield on 79
Sheff Utd on 77
Boro on 77
Blackburn on 77
Luton on 75

Goal difference is gonna be key on my prediction 😱

Blackburn have an unbelievably easy run in (on paper)

I have us losing at Bournemouth and Swansea and winning the others

Hopefully I am wrong about some of the others points totals.

Let's take it one game at a time and beat Hull tomorrow 👍
For me Wilder has let himself down there. Who factors in losing/drawing some games? Could he tell us which ones hes happy to lose?
Im sure he doesn't ever play for a draw let alone lose but a lot is in the mind in any sport.

We play to win ! Every game

We have a game headstart on Blackburn, there will be many twists and turns along the way that's for sure

He was asked by the Press how many points to get in playoffs. He give his view. He wasn’t negative. He talked like he wasn’t expecting to scrape into the playoffs.

To be fair he said explicitly that his attitude is to win. Whether we play Fulham, Hull, Spurs or Barcelona.

I also think he has a reasonable enough degree of humility to understand the game enough, that we are unlikely to win all our remaining games

He never said otherwise. He was asked what points total he thought would be enough for the play-offs
