Chelsea

Yeah I had them down at the start of the season as title winners.

Between them and City, and the fact City don't have a striker could haunt them.

Tuchel is doing some incredible things at Chelsea.

I remember reading after euro 2016 that is was 800 euros in Germany and 2.7k over here for the UEFA A licence. That’s one of the reasons they have more highly qualified coaches through the ladder of football
Agreed, at grassroots level its an issue and it impacts the quality of player entering academys at 16. I'm not sure it has a great deal of impact on the quality or number of coaches at the elite level (Prem and champ) as the clubs involved can put 5 coaches through a year on petty cash.

Man City lost the title race when they didn't buy a striker. Regarding Pep's comments and the fan's group asking him to rescind them, I also wondered if this could be his last year in the PL.

Chelsea look like a complete side and for me, they have goalscorers all over the park and I feel they have the edge over Liverpool. United still look like there is something missing and it will be interesting to see how they perform against the other top teams.

I would say Chelsea for the PL.
I agree with all that, but I think it’s easy to forget how dominant Liverpool are with Van Dijk and the rest of the defence back. Last season they had no centre halves for six months, was a skeleton squad.

City will love flying under the radar but yes, glaring hole in their squad up front. It’s still the same team that won the league pretty easily last season though, Aguero hardly played second half of the season. They still look capable of blowing away teams 5-0 every game.

Chelsea is like the perfect squad plus Lukaku plus a brilliant manager. I love Lukaku, such a warrior. I’m not sure there’s a striker better suited to the Premier League in terms of mentality and physicality. Top 3 in the world for me.

Nearly every team that wins the premier league, going back to Roy Keane, Vieira, Kante, Fabinho, Fernandinho - has the best CDM in the league that year and wins the midfield. Last season was a bit of an anomaly but it was a poor league and City were a class above.
A team with Fred as their CDM is not going to win the league and will be Uniteds downfall.

Van Dijk in the team and he was sorely missed last season

I don't think I could argue with your comments either. Liverpool look a different side with Van Dijk in the side and was sorely missed last season. They are still capable of dropping points at the lower teams though (but can't anyone).

I just feel there is something special about this Chelsea team, I just can't see them losing too many games. The managers got them well organised and everyone knows their job. Liverpool might regret not beating Chelsea when James got sent off for handball. It could be that tight.

Added to the fact they have Ole in charge.

Tuchel comes across really well I think and shaped Chelsea into an outstanding team. They have the organisation, physicality and finesse to beat all teams in the league. It's going to be an interesting league as Liverpool, Man City and Man United will all keep pace.

Although I think Chelsea have a great chance, I Still fancy Man City to come out on top

The strength in depth is unbelievable and I think that counts for a lot over the course of a full season. City weren’t at the races early on last season but went on an incredible run and made into a one horse race in the end.

With the other teams, you feel they’re only a few injuries away from being a weakened side, but not so much with city.

That being said, having watched all the City games this season, the centre midfield area is starting to look a bit old and lacking energy, that seems to be looking a problem

I don’t see Man Utd or Liverpool winning it.

This could be the closest race for the Premier title in years. City, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea all look so good. And maybe a late surge by Norwich as the dark horses!

To go slightly off topic but to add to my point its no coincidence our most successful Premier league team had our best cdm in boateng, our success at this level we had leadbitter and clayton and despite looking like we have some good players at this level now, we're struggling and we don't have a recognised cdm or anyone to win that midfield battle.

Dont forget the reliable workhorse that was Mustoe as well . Really underrated in his Premier League presence . You never got less than 100% and he could play as well . Seen many of the 'superstars' come and go and held his own .
