Chelsea vs Leicester Match Thread

I'm glad he stayed at Leicester but Arsenal have won more than Leicester since Schmeichel was properly on the radar.

Even including today, Arsenal have won 2 FA Cups to Leicester's 1 since the title win.
Well you're taking a specific point in time there - after they won the League - to try amd prove a point that doesn't hold up. 1 League title and 1 FA Cup is a better return than 2 FA Cups, so he has won "more" by staying at Leicester

The fans have to make the FA cup matter, if it matters to the fans it will matter to football.
Reduced tickets and people don't turn up, I can sort of understand the bigger clubs putting it down their list of priorities but surely it matters to every other club.
By us showing it doesn't seem to matter seems to have allowed the clubs to think the same.
It's an attitude that's bled from the big teams to the fans. We've had Basle and steau. Three cup finals in a row. The semi v chesterfield. We got to one final as a second tier team. We beat the "invincible" Arsenal twice. Recently we've beaten Man city and Man utd away from home. We took Liverpool to about 15 penalties.

Knowing all this when we played Brentford this year most people were happy to put the reserves out. All because we were in with a chance of scraping into the playoffs.

I don't really understand under which circumstances people would want to put out a proper team.

We got to the uefa cup final because McLaren prioritised it over the league, having been told the cups matter to the Boro by gibson. We need to get into that mindset again.

If you are playing a team from your league or higher play the strongest team possible.

Was Schmeichel sought after by the big teams before Leicester won the league?

Not in my memory, Cech was still playing at that point too.

But if you want to paint it as a deliberate plot, Arsenal have won the FA Cup 4 times in the last 7 years.

Not sure about that Malaguena. As a school boy in the 60's I could name every Cup winner since the competion started. I couldn't name every League winner since that competion started some time after the FA Cup. In my mind winning the FA cup was far more important than winning the League.

The FA Cup was always the big occasion, the league was bread and butter, it still is for me.

The choice between a cup final and promotion is the cup every time.

Brendan Rodgers post match interview refers to the club as ‘them‘ and ‘their’, ‘their history’ etc. Not ‘we’ and ‘our‘ as I would expect, interesting.
