Checks last Saturday

Yes, I was checked. But also from walking around two sides of the ground I saw stewards and even Helena Bowman herself, operations manager now, carrying out checks on phones and against ticket I.D.
 
I thought it was just a cursory glance at my phone. I could be wrong but let's face it I could have been showing a screenshot of anybody's Covid status.

And this is not a criticism of either the stewards or the club.

Yes but if it is a lateral flow result it has your name, date, your date of birth and the word negative all almost together. That makes it so quick to check.
 
They seemed to be making a good effort.
I must admit I was sceptical beforehand, having been subject to many half- baked searches at various away grounds (little wonder pyros get through).

I was using a Covid pass though.

If it's not actually getting scanned it'll be very easy to create fakes.
 
I thought it was well done. My friend however said their coach which usually has 40 people was only 10. Many older people from remote areas still don't have mobiles or the Internet and they get excluded. One fella turned up but wasn't allowed to go for that reason.

It is, but people are dicks and lazy.
Young lads behind me in the queue were saying that they hadn't done a lateral flow so were just going to say they were under 18.

Not sure whether that excuse held up or not, but given how basic the checks were, I'd not be surprised.

They would be setting themselves up then because the steward would have just asked to see their tickets and a light comes at the turnstile for stewards to see concession tickets are being used. They would have drawn attention to themselves.
 
Checked my COVID pass but not season card and spoke to some who had no checks at all, it was quite light on footfall when we got there, as in there was only us going through the turnstile at that point.
