Bit of Friday night fun.......
What's your go to cheap but cheerful meal?
Any meal but it has to be cheap to make.
I'm coming straight in with Corned Beef hash as that's what we've just had for tea.
Under a fiver and that included a crusty loaf.
Mmmmmmmmm 😁

Pasta with roasted veg.

That said ended up in Penrith spoons tonight and had a very acceptable veggie sausage and mash for 7.50 👍

Prawn stir fry
Cheap prawns from Tesco, bit of mixed veg, rice, dash of oyster and soy. An egg
Accompanied by Prawn crackers. Less than a fiver

CB Hash is great but corned beef seems very expensive for what it is, at the moment

Always fish finger sarnies, although not so cheap nowadays. Had one on Saturday made of the followimg

3 x Aldi Chunky Breaded Fiah Fingers
1 x Batchelors mushy peas (with vinegar, mint sauce and black pepper added whilst cooking)
2 x slices of Village Bakery sliced tiger loaf covered in butter

Finally and somewhat controversially a dash of horseradish and tomato sauce.

As a young kid I was partial to a sauce sandwich. Easy to make and tasty.
However, I was threatened on pain of death, by my parents, never to ask for one when I was at other kid's houses for tea.
I do like to vary it up a bit.

Sometimes I’ll have toast and salad cream instead. Lovely jubbly.
