Charlie Wyke

Johnny Vincents Motorbike

Well-known member
scores again tonight V Ipswich away.

theyre winning 1-0 at the moment.

i'm told his not rated , but he scores on a regular basis, certainly his been worth every penny of the £400,000 the mackems paid for him.

Preferred it when he was ****.

Sunderland are getting ominously close to the play-offs right now.
He could fire them in to the top 2

Nice to see the lad do well, not so much who he's playing for, would love to see Wyke scoring for the Boro

Some say he’s at his level , and not technically gifted. Me, I think he knows how to do one of the hardest jobs , finding the net .
Could he do a job for us ? Yes
6.3in target man who scores goals , age 28 , local lad , ticks all the Warnock boxes .

In his first 2 seasons for Sunderland he scored 9 league goals. That's at league 1 level and for a team in and about the playoffs.

The difference in quality between the Championship and League 1 is huge.

He's a unit who has a decent scoring record. He's carving a decent career after dropping down to the EFL (a bit like Graham going to Carlisle)

We were linked with bringing him back when he was at Bradford. I'm not sure what he's like a champo level.

We didn't give him a chance at the Boro, e just released him, these things happen in football, they leave a club, drop down & then things click, Gaby Graham had a decent career after leaving us, hopefully Wyke does likewise, if he fires then up then he could carry his form in to the Championship

I think many of you underrate Charlie. I first saw him at Aton Villa in the u 18s cup quarter final. He had one chance and scored

He looks cumbersome and slow. Slow he is not. I've looked a couple of times and he can keep up with most others.

When he gets a chance he is unusually accurate and hits the target.

He's had sever "purple patches" though his career - under 18s 20+ goals - Carlisle he was scoring nearly every week but as his contract was running down he went to Bradford. They liked him but he did not have the greatest scoring record. Now all of a sudden he's back doing what some / many thought he could do

Give the guy the credit for getting his head down and working hard. Also his managers who have found systems where he can thrive

He has done really well to carve out a good career in the football leagues and I hope he can step up to the Championship (even with Sunderland), but I think that will be a step too far.

I'll probably be wrong and watch him fire Sunderland to the PL next season.

The Mackems on RTG have hated him over the last 2 seasons. They claim he cant hold the ball up cant bring others into play. Hes banging the goals in though. Should help change their minds about him.
