Charlie Wyke - Get well soon.

I'm not suggesting this is the case here, but there has been a big spike worldwide of footballers suffering heart attacks, or cardiac arrest (as in Christian Eriksens case).

Covid, including those who have had the vaccine, has obviously been considered as a cause, but right now there aren't any answers and it's possible it could just be a natural spike.

I'm not really sure you can say too much pressure physically or mentally...

There are people that have to work 60 hours hard labour week in week out.

The issues need to be looked into and addressed I agree but I'm not sure we can say they have a hard life.
You know what I mean.

I have seen a few people on social media blaming Covid/Vaccines for what seems like a real increase in heart problems for athletes, not just football.

Im not sure of how often it typically occurs but does seem every matchday another player collapses - are they too fit?

Either way, this needs to be looked into

Someone has wrote an article on this and statistically there is no spike at all its just things are monitored and reported more. Seen a few anti vax post on facebook about this but has been debunked. Footballers generally have lower vaccine uptake than the general poulation. It is a similar situation when a few years ago it seemed loads of famous people were dying, its just turned out it was just a change in the way people were judged to be famous and the way deaths were reported.

Ah yes - the Great Illuminati Cull of 2016. Sometimes you need fresh blood to keep the upper echelons of civilisation in power.

Hope he recovers swiftly. I'd advise folk to refrain from reading replies to tweets about this because it is just absolutely full of desperate fear mongering.

If your opinion is that people can't have mental or physical pressures if there is anyone that 'works harder' than them, I think you need to stop and have a think yourself. It's a pretty terrible view.

Edit: hoping for a swift recovery for Charlie

No... The OP states "too much pressure being put on..."

I disagree with that statement.

People can have mental and physical needs but I don't think it should be linked to too much pressure being placed on footballers. It's a weak link.

Get well soon Charlie.

Carl Ikeme is trying to ask the question. Trevor Sinclair also raised it the other day on talkSPORT and was was quickly shut down. I don’t know if it’s linked to Covid, the vaccine or something else entirely, but it is happening far too often and it won’t be long until someone else tragic happens.

Statistically it is not happening anymore than normal. Things like this have always happened. They are just monitored more and reported differently. There is also a section of people out there with certain agendas at the moment.

Some folk are desperate to point out whenever someone falls ill at the minute, strange behaviour.

Best Wishes to Charlie

I sometimes wonder if the speed of the English game is getting too quick for the human body - we're not machines.. no matter how much a footballer trains

Think about the olden days, they had cig breaks at half time... nevermind the alcohol - so compared to today, they were hardly in good shape for an athlete point of view
