Charles Bronson

He has certainly kept himself busy whilst in prison and Broadmoor. To be fair he has spent a vast majority of his life behind bars and even when he was out he only managed a short while before getting put away again, how would he manage in the outside world now? In prison he has a reputation and a name(several names actually, I think he has changed his name twice) outside of prison he is an ageing ex con. I think he has spent more time in prison(and solitary confinement) than people who have committed a lot more severe crimes so if he was managed properly and reintroduced into society correctly and given a platform for his art and possibly true crime after dinner circuit(think Dave Courtney, Carlton Leach, the late Frankie Fraser) but if he wasn't offered a platform and something to stay on the right path for then I feel he would quickly do an armed robbery or something along them lines to get himself behind bars again. For me I think he should be allowed that chance for freedom I think he has payed for his crimes and I think if he was given the right guidance and he was able to stay on the right path and earn a honest living through art and speaking about his experiences then I feel he does have something to offer to society. I'm not someone who agrees with soft sentences, but for someone who hasn't killed anybody and hasn't done one of them despicable crimes of with women or children, a pretty much whole life sentence seems very harsh.

A lot of if s there

hes reduced risk. still a risk though

i dont want him on the streets

if hes locked up hes not a risk other than to the pos that have to take care of him

Given that none of us know the detail of his conduct and behaviour over the last few years, it's impossible to give an informed opinion on whether he should be released.

I'm very much pro-rehabilitation, but recognise that some people are such a risk they need to be locked up.

Charles Arthur Salvador (formerly Charles Ali Ahmed; born Michael Gordon Peterson on 6 December 1952), better known as Charles Bronson

Maybe he hasn't killed or raped anyone but clearly a violent unhinged man and he would need serious monitoring upon release. The world has changed massively, he would struggle with life outside id suggest and would need some proper care, assistance but overall policing back into society.

Bronson keeps reoffending which is why he is still in prison, actions speak louder than words and he's consistently over a period of time resorted to violence which shows that on the balance of probability he's not reformed and still a potential danger, he's only not killed people because he has been disturbed whilst in the process, his artistic and writing ability should not distract from the fact he's a violent thug who has assaulted and taken hostage not only fellow prisoners but also civilians there to aid him.

I mean surely justice is justice? Whatever the term for his crimes was needs to be served and shouldnt really be exceeded on a whim. Do we not believe in rehabilitation? If you are convicted of any crime should you remain in prison for the rest of your life?

If you represent such a danger to the public, then yes, I think some offenders should.

It makes me feel uncomfortable that someone's liberty has been denied in such a finite way, but in the absence of a better solution I think it justifiable and necessary.
