Hey Norfolk, I was thinking this the other day. I have an RX8 which does about 20 to the gallon, so it is a well deserved rest for my wallet! Instead of 20 to the gallon I am getting about 3 weeks to the gallon. And my wife said it's fuel economy was crap. I never got that mileage from a Vectra.

I could have said that before the lockdown. I almost never use it now, never have the need.

The full is a good one. Given I usually fill up twice a month and a tank costs £100 I'm saving a fortune. Well, £200!
 
Typical when petrol is nearly down to £1 per litre we can’t drive anywhere! Hope it’s still £1 a litre when the doom lifts but I expect not.
 
Been that way for about 6 years for me now. In terms of monthly outgoings there is only one which requires cash - the barbers.
 
The fuel is a really good point, I must be saving in the region of £75 a week, also my PCP mileage agreement might need looking at when we come out of this.

I also am realising how much I spend by just nipping to the shop or having the odd coffee here and there,now my only outgoing (other than the usual bills) are grocery shopping and bloody Vbucks to keep the young entertained!!!

That’s a good point about PCP it’s the mileage that kills the value of the car you’ll be getting more and more equity.

Absolutely the same! Except I don’t even need the barbers anymore.

I hate handling cash now. Last year I was parking up in cheddar gorge and they only accepted cash. I panicked and didn’t know what to do!
 
I can assure you some people (not me) never use anything but cash
Wonder if this virus will mean a permanent decrease in the percentage of cash transactions, as opposed to cards/online payments?

Can I ask why? The convenience of cashless is such a revelation for me.
Yes I hope if one thing comes out of the virus it’ll help accelerate the cashless society.

oh. NOT you sorry. I do wonder about people who use only cash.
 
I used cash for everyday transactions under a tenner up until all this started. It makes personal accounting easier, for me anyway. I check all my statements which would become a real chore if I had to check every time I bought a pint. With cash, you know how much you go out with, how much you come back with, and can line that up with what you've bought.
 
When you pay with cash you get a better feel of what you are spending. Cash also can't be tracked like electronic payments. It depends if you want organisations to be able to monitor you in minute detail, some people aren't bothered some are and most don't even know it is going on. Another issue is that electronic systems sometimes break down and shops then will only accept cash. I use both (outside Virus issues) and hope organisations will allow both.
