We have no leaders and rely heavily on weapons on the field so to bring off doak way too early was a grave mistake that he also made against Watford bringing doak off too early….Hopefully angry with himself. His subs killed the game
Agree completely. We have no leaders and rely heavily on weapons on the field so to bring off doak way too early was a grave mistake that he also made against Watford bringing doak off too early….
Managers responsibility to have leaders on the field and this will keep happening and we will not make the playoffs and will lose the likes of RVB, ELL, Hackney and probably Morris to big premiership bids (even if we made the playoffs we’d have no chance because of our lack of leadership and guile which comes from leaders on the field
Carrick isn’t even aware that we have no leadership; to give the captains armband to Hackney tells that he doesn’t understand what we are lacking; it’s the only missing ingredient but a very important ingredient because it makes the cake taste bitter
100% agree.with lenihan back we’d have a chance of making the playoffs - currently we’ve got no chance and will finish 8 or 9thAgree completely.
Lenihan finding some form and getting back into the side would do us a world of good IMO.
Agree with this. Although Lenihan is a talker there’s no guarantee that he would be in top form if he comes back in. Balancing act between leadership and performances.Who do you drop/ start with Lenihan though?
Arguably Rav and Clarke have been our most consistent performers for the last 6 months.
Surely the priority is getting Clarke match fit to challenge the current pairing who have been ok as well.
You are potentially trying to shoehorn a leader into a position that shouldn’t be tinkered with.
Plus Lenihan will be some way from getting properly back on the grass with the group.
Reading one or two posts above makes me wonder about whether one or two posters are Boro supporters at all, that or someone has left the door to the secure unit unlocked again.
It must be absolutely exhausting going through life constantly being so negative all the time. I've no problem with constructive criticism and making a point (such as your point about us lacking leaders in the side, which I would agree with, we could do with a few more).100% agree.with lenihan back we’d have a chance of making the playoffs - currently we’ve got no chance and will finish 8 or 9th
Obviously you need lenihan to be ready to play but I think RVB plays alongside him and Clarke unfortunately sits on the bench because, look what is happening ?Who do you drop/ start with Lenihan though?

Why such a big reaction from you to my ‘prediction’It must be absolutely exhausting going through life constantly being so negative all the time. However, to consistently right us off, deride Carrick and declare we've 'no chance' of reaching the play offs is reactionary negative tosh. We're well in with a chance of making the play offs and even automatic promotion too. There are no stand out sides this year, it's the Championship and everyone can beat anyone else on their day. There's a long way to go, it's fine margins, take a few of the extra chances we're creating and a few less individual errors and we can pocket loads more points. We're still well in touch.

We are weak on leadership on the field and it can’t be measured but lenihan and smith at the back driving us on when we made the playoffs against Coventry kinda says everything surely ?
The most worrying aspect is I believe Carrick has not spotted it…
Personally, if all centre backs were match fit (which ours rarely seem to ever be), I would go with Lenihan and Rav. Lenihan and Clarke are both similar in ability but Lenihan is clearly a leader.Who do you drop/ start with Lenihan though?

Edmundson has had a couple of half decent games but his weaknesses are obvious and are easily exploited, he's a bottom half championship / league one centre back.Agree with this. Although Lenihan is a talker there’s no guarantee that he would be in top form if he comes back in. Balancing act between leadership and performances.
I don’t think Edmundson is a shrinking violet either. It probably more midfield/final third that I feel we need that bit more nous and tact, personally.
Let's not forget we are one point [1] short of Blackburn in sixth [6th] place - after an "indifferent" start (y)
Good morning (y)Quieten down you - no room for that schite in here
