Carrick on needing transfers…

‘It’s easy to say that after a loss. We’ve got quality in the squad. I wouldn’t look too much into that’

May be me just being doom and gloom, but that doesn’t sound positive. Could our summer business be done?

Very clear on Tees Akpom was never going to come on - ‘having 9 on the bench allowed them to get back into the match day atmosphere. Johnny a bit ahead of the others so not such a risk bringing him on’. Imagine the same with Coburn.

Just protecting the current crop of players.

Fully expect that we'll bolster the side with a few additions who'll command a starting spot before the close of window.

Am just really pleased we bought Alex Gilbert as an attacking option as we’d have struggled without him today.

Thought that was a really bad comment…..probably his first. Everyone knew before the game that we need 3/4 signings regardless of todays result. We were playing a winger up front fffs!

Fully expect to get another 4-5 players in, and a couple out.

Mix of permanents and loans.

Then we'll see.

2 CFs, LB, RB? and CM needed.

ASAP 😬

I totally disagree.

Whatever Carrick is saying up the chain of command, he will not let it bleed down to the players.

There is nothing to be gained by telling your current squad that they are sub standard, it's what finished wilder.

He started with the wrong team today & was slow to change it that is what it boils down to looking for more players is the reason he did it.

Looking at what we started with, I expected some indecision ON the pitch. What I wasn't expecting was total indecision OFF it. Is there anyone who was present at the match who thought "This is all going nicely - I don't need to change anything yet" for 69 minutes whilst Millwall were on around six takeable chances to our one? I get that we have no full backs, I get that we have a largely ponderous, lightweight midfield with Barlaser in it, and also that we don't have a single fit striker (whatever Carrick claims Crooks is). But in the remaining transfer window our esteemed recruitment department needs to find not only a left back and a striker but a solid midfielder who weighs more than 6 stone. And after witnessing Morgan Rogers for the third time he isn't one either. He looks like an over-excited puppy and his instant flicks find defenders with unerring accuracy. I think I'll know when we've assembled a starting eleven capable of finishing within sight of the Top 6 - Coulson, McNair, Barlaser, Crooks and Rogers won't be anywhere near it.

Yeah, bench filling exercise.
