Carbon monoxide detectors

Been having some work done today, plastering and some alterations to our hallway. We have three carbon monoxide detectors, including one in the hallway, but the one in my son's room is going off (he's not there). The door had been left open and we're wondering if the solvents used etc could have caused it. Anyone known this before? The one that's going off is a different 'brand' to the other two that aren't going off, and the one nearest the boiler isn't going off (which makes me think its not an appliance rated issue, especially as our boiler is literally weeks old). We've opened all the doors and windows obviously.

Can you move the alarms around or are they fixed ? If yes you can test different alarm in his room...
TBH I've done a bit more digging and it appears that this particular alarm (out of the 3) also picks up high amounts of Ethyl Acetate. The lads have been removing varnish from the banister all day.

I don't feel like I'm dying of CO poisoning, but who knows.

That must be it then...they are pretty sensitive. I had a smoke alarm go off once and put it down to my raggy owld swimming towel drying on the radiator. Must have been chlorine fumes setting it off as it was drying...
