Can't complain about makems doing peado chants

Jimmy Saville he’s one of your own is a pretty childish thing to be singing, but the difference is he was indeed a peadophile and there was no claiming that Leeds fans are the same in that reference. I’m not condoning it btw and the culprits should be delt with banning orders, but it’s not as bad as 2000 mackems claiming everyone in Middlesbrough is a peadophile.

What about a group of nuns?
I'll defer to Father Jack.

And I hear Convent Schools weren't great fun.

OK, I jest. "People in groups CAN BE *****" is probably more accurate. I mean, people in henecan be...but groups...yeah. I think there was a George Carlin skit that said it better.

I have cringed at lots of crowd chants over the years. The worst for me are the well known songs uttered by England fans when abroad in Germany and France referring back to wars from over 80 and 110 years ago. You accept it as tribalism in football and ignore. Inevitable and sad.

Tribalism it is. Human behaviour in mobs. You wouldn’t go into a pub and spot a bloke from Leeds and shout Jimmy Saville songs at him. Similarly you wouldn’t go to France on holiday and hurl “if it wasn’t for the Germans you’d be kraut” at them either. And yet throw that same bloke into a crowd and he’s safe enough to assume he can do that in the knowledge that it’s “banter”. So yes if you accept it then anything thrown back should equally be accepted I trust.

Me - I think it is pathetic.
