Canelo vs. Yildirim

For me Canelo has all the tools to take Yildirim apart over whatever timeframe he feels he wants as a workout and likely to stop him in the first 4-6 rounds. From the few fight outtakes I've seen Yildirim is definitely up for a scrap and is a decent ring savvy brawler, he just hasn't the punch or craft to worry Canelo.

Warm up for Billy Jo?

Will be great seeing Canelo knock Billy Jo out.

I’d normally back the British fighter, not him though. Crossed the line too many times.

BJS has caused himself no end of issues throughout his career and has done some pretty stupid things in his life.

From a purely boxing perspective though I think he has the ring craft and skills to cause problems for Canelo. He doesn’t have the power however and so I see him starting well using his movement and doing well on the cards for the first half of the fight before Canelo starts steamrollering him for the second half.

Just watched the fight this morning - one sided beat down, was always likely to be. I think bjs may ellude Camelot for longer but I don’t think bjs has the power to hurt him.

I want to like caneloi and revel in his greatness but I can’t get past his failed test and unlikely defence:

one things for certain BJs will bring this up at every opportunity!

I agree. I think it’ll be similar to Khan with Canelo eventually getting his measure and lining him up. Doubt BJS has the power to even remotely bother him.

The way he walked down Callum Smith was quite scary.

Re BJS I can forgive most things but advocating domestic abuse and exploiting the vulnerable for his own amusement was pretty disgusting.

If BJS had power I think he’d have a very decent chance, but if Callum Smith couldn’t keep him off I’m not sure many can.

Without wanting to cast any aspersions on Canelo, does anyone else think it’s way beyond the realms of normality just how much size and power he has gained?

possibly, but I doubt he’s the only one at it. Lots of boxers are very unlucky with their choice of butchers/farmers it seems.

Yep! Sadly that is the case which is criminal when you can die in the ring.

He’s certainly a different fighter to what he was - maybe thats training but who knows. For me there will always be doubt in my mind.

Mayweather previously beat him I’m surprised there has never been talk of the rematch there as we all know Floyd likes the money and that would be a mega fight.

Too dangerous for a mid 40s Mayweather. Smarter and easier money elsewhere!
