Can we change the kits?

I don’t want to.. it’s really wound me up tho. I’d love to find something positive to give it a bit of spin.. but it’s utter dog shyt.

I’d probably do well to just to come off here tbh.. and stay away from social media.
I always appreciate your passion and enthusiasm.

Do not quite understand it on this.

After 24 hours - here is my thinking - do not for a second think it will change you point of view.

Home Kit.

The home shirt is not like any Boro shirt - because of the choice to celebrate 150 years with a gold badge and trim that had not been done before. But.. an all red kit is still recognisably Boro.

The main aspect of this year is the badge - so put that front and centre without other distractions.

There were plenty of other options, but the more I think about it the more I see the logic. (It led me to buying one).

Away Kit:

It looks like a Kit that is inspired by the kit it is meant to be inspired by. No other club has polka dot detailing like that.

But... it also looks like a modern football kit so that it has generic fan appeal.

I love the pale blue badge touch.

*I understand it is a similar template to Preston who play in white and navy.

They have gone for a different white/a different neck line. But... it I can understand the disappointment in the same template.

3rd Kit.

Doesn't make sense from a colour point of view.

But it has an interesting lion sublimation that is similar to a lot of the "this is what we could have had" kits.

Something different, but I understand that it has less links.

150 kit.

Unique "dyed blue" appearance.

It is nothing like any other football kit I can remember with a specific idea.

Not seen enough of it as it is not on sale but I appreciate the idea.

- again, I appreciate your enthusiasm - just wanted to offer a reasoned alternative point of view.

I’m not against an all red kit.. I’m not against having polka dots on a shirt.. I’m not against the black out style of the anniversary kit.

The execution is poor.. very, very poor. When Preston have two of our kits nigh on identical in our 150th year.. that is not a good thing. They are not even particularly good for Preston. Having a red kit for a team that plays in red is something that I get.. it’s a pretty low bar and not something that could easily be done wrong.. but it has.

As a whole the set is underwhelming, the Preston kits are disappointing and the execution is pish poor. There isn’t one stand out kit in that bunch. These are the worst set of kits we’ve had since 2009/10

There is nothing brave of interesting about them and none of them are recognisable as being Middlesbrough shirts. Four template kits that have not been done very well.

Each and every small detail that is wrong on these very basic kits is magnified as a result of them being basic and boring.. they are not interesting or exciting yet at the same time do not seem to be safe choices.

There are rules to Boro shirts that work well and none of these shirts follow them.

Yes simple.. if it really is simple and clean.

The white Ramsden shirt was a surprise to Boro staff being a hit.. the basic white and red detail. It should not have been a surprise, anyone who understands the club and its identity would know.

Nothing but excuses come out.. adidas made us do it. Hummel let us down, Errea let us down.. now I guess it will be Castore have let us down. Funny how other clubs seem to get by. Sizes are impossible for our club.. infact it’s only Castore that can make sizes that aren’t 4 sizes out. Even the Chinese copies don’t get it that far out.

It’s the same thing. We had to get two Preston shirts because.. erm? We asked for them? We couldn’t get anything bespoke this season.. because. We didn’t ask for anything bespoke. We couldn’t release them early because.. I’m guessIng Midnite did it.. they stopped an earlier launch.

It all comes down to money, it doesn’t matter because it’s only a shirt. The club did understand and the club did listen.. but we’re not doing that anymore.

Last season was an easy hit.. expectations were low and we had two by the book shirts. They weren’t all that tho tbf. Shirts that fit and shirts that you can buy isn’t a big win. The Masham Shirt was class.

NONE of this years are.

The kits are an absolute abomination and 99% of Boro fans think the same. I have spoken to about five people who detest the home shirt, but have ordered it just because they always do.

The emails im getting from people back hime are all the same...dreadful...what were they thinking...or just WTF..

These are not people that look or post here and no pre influence from me.

My favourite kit was 71-72 as I like the all red and the numbers on the shorts, never a big lover of the white shorts, but we need a change every now and again. 4 good strips imho. I`d keep the gold badge for good too.

Get with the times daddio.

Has anyone seen any of these shirts up close and personal. Quite often a photo image doesn't quite do some things justice. Not saying they will look any better, I'm just asking the question.

I actually like the home shirt. Sorry. I think the size was too small in the press photo.
