Can Norwich beat Sheff u

The 'anyone can beat anyone in this league' doesn't really bear scrutiny. The bottom teams in the Championship are
running at the same points per game as the Prem League's bottom teams.

Burnley (1st in Championship) are running at about the same points per game as Man City (2nd in Prem League). Sheff Utd (2nd) and Man Utd (3rd) have about the same points per game.

The teams one place below the middle of each table have exactly the same points per game.

People don't say any team in the Prem League can beat any other team, so it's not true about the Championship either.

Unless I'm missing something...
Millwall 0 - 1 Huddersfield, last game played, in a one off game anyone can beat anyone.
Bournemouth 1 - 0 Liverpool another one off game.
Forest Green 1 -0 Sheff Wed.... last game played. Bottom club beating 2nd in the league.

So anyone can beat anyone and it does bear scrutiny!

I'm not on about over a full season, but any team can beat anyone in a one off game.

I realise they can win it was more about how typical of Norwich was that sunlun game as they were hopeless.

Let’s just concntrate on our game v Huddersfield and not worry about others things just yet. Warnock and his club have just been given a massive morale boost with a potential saviour from the US. It won’t be easy.
This is the key! Do as best as WE can and leave the rest to the footballing Gods

It's been a fab season (so far) just enjoy the ride!!

In their last 3 games:

They've faced an injury ravaged Sunderland at home - lost 1-0 without ever posing a threat.
They've played Huddersfield who are rank bad, and drew 1-1.
They've played Stoke and also drew.

I don't think they've been impressive of late whatsoever.

Their squad on paper suggests they should be doing a lot better than they currently are.

I think if they continue playing like they have done in their most recent games, then Sheff Utd will have a great chance of picking up 3 points.
Didn't we only draw with Stoke? I don't think anyone would say we have gone off the boil.

Not under Carrick, no.

Our loss to Sunderland and draw to Stoke has been surrounded with the 2nd best form in the league.
Wagner's results have not.
Stop spoiling my fun tc.

In any event Norwich will take points of united. United have hardly been setting the world on fire themselves.

Yes we did, but have we gone back to back games without a win or a bad performance under Carrick? Let alone 3?
What's your point here? Are you saying Norwich have no chance of beating Sheff Utd so we should just give it up?

Not really sure why you are so adamant about arguing this. Clearly Norwich can beat Sheff Utd and have more than just an outside chance.

Certainly not.

I'm just not as confident in Norwich (based on their latest form and results).

They have a good squad and team on paper, and they're at home, so obviously they have a chance. However, I would still have Sheff Utd down as favourites to pick up 3 points on Saturday.

If Norwich play like they have of late, then I think it will be an easier game for Sheff Utd. But hopefully they turn it on and give Sheff Utd a tough game and get a result.

No way should we be giving up.

I've seen enough championship football to know that nothing is guaranteed. Yes, top teams are more likely to win but a team at the bottom winning isn't a surprise. The difference in quality between the top and the bottom isn't huge and even the worst teams in the division will have a good run at some point in the season. QPR are the worst team in the league at the moment but they were top at the end of October when Carrick took over and we were 3rd bottom. Wigan have been terrible this season but they've beaten Luton and Blackburn. Good teams have bad runs as well, as we did at the start of the season. Sometimes it's just about timing. Us and Sheff Utd lost to QPR early in the season but QPR weren't rubbish then. If we had played them a bit later we might have had an easier game.
