Cameron Archer

Judging Archer's time at Boro on the Coventry play off is just nuts. He wasn't the reason we lost. To say he downed tools is just nuts - that is saying he didn't want to win, didn't want a Wembley final and wasn't interested in a permanent contract with Boro in the PL. I would suggest - that would be would have been motivated to do the exact opposite..... It just didn't work out for the team!

Haven’t judged his time. He was very good for us, he was very poor in the playoffs.

I just don’t understand the clamour to re-sign him.

Probably because when he got a scoring opportunity you expected him to score. Because he was/presumably still is a natural finisher.

I think its cos people know what to expect plus he'll have another 18 months experience under his belt!

I mean, if I was Southampton, knowing Boro are pocketing £20 mil for lath, and Leeds are looking for a forward to get them over the line and promoted, I'd definitely be knocking back bids and saying he is not for sale. Doesn't mean the deal is dead. Could just be a bargaining technique. Will be a hold your nerve type deal.
