Cameron Archer

I can understand him being a bit frustrated in recent games, not being amongst the goals, but he is playing a brilliant role and is actually helping setting them up. It was great to see him get his just rewards today.
it’s a damn shame he won’t be staying with us, could forge an excellent partnership with Akpom for a few years to come.

A few days ago, Akpom was talking about how he was looking for chances to play Archer in. Today he managed it. Those two are building up a real understanding. For Akpom's goal, you see Akpom make the first time pass to Archer knowing exactly where Archer will put it and making sure he is there for it. Our double-A strike team is, I reckon, the best in the Championship and a match for most teams in the bottom half of the Premier league.
If we go up, I suspect that Villa will sell so that Emery can buy a striker he sees as an upgrade.

I think this is what could play in our favour.

Villa strike me as a club who want to make statement signings. Their owners want to flex their muscles. I think they’d rather sign an ageing striker like Giroud rather than play Archer

Apparently tried to buy him on a perm in Jan. God knows what we offered. I imagine it was a fair amount.

Shame it didn't come off😢

I imagine villa know what they have. He's a talent. A terrific finisher with great movement. His stats with us and PNE are superb.

I imagine villa will have a long hard look at him during pre season. I think most villa fans think he was criminally under used by Gerrard.

So I guess we 'enjoy' him while we can. The Danks connection could work in our favour next season.

Excuse my ignorance but where does he play and where did we get him- I'm a little out of touch

Carrick said Archer's been hampered by an ankle injury for a few weeks now. Must have been that whack he took at Cardiff.

As good as Archer's been, he'll probably go up another gear when he's fully recovered.
