Calvert-Lewin

Big year for Everton with a proper manager . Maybe you should just look at the managers in the premier league right now and ask yourself who the top 6 are . That’s could be we’re their teams finish this year .

Never really rated him, but it's hard to argue with his return lately.

He should 100% be in the England squad tomorrow.

ive rated him for a while. He has played in a struggling team going forward over past few seasons. Now he’s getting decent service and a good manager he’s one of the best strikers around.

He was always a forward who led the like well and did a lot of work with little or no reward. He's one you'd say 'put in a shift'.

He's now added goals and clearly flying in confidence. I imagine he could have been close to leaving Everton for a Newcastle or West ham a couple of years ago. I didn't think Everton fans were that struck on him.

I'd start him in the next couple of internationals. We know what Kane can do so get him in. That said if I was an Everton or spurs fan I'd want neither anywhere near England games as both been run ragged this month.

I can't think of a worse time for poxy internationals😕

The amount of games some of these prem players have played with league Cup and Europe in spuds case. The last thing you need is 3 Internationals.

He seems to have been around for ages, but is still only 23.
Players reach their peak later now (later breakthroughs into first teams; staying fitter longer), so he's maybe got another 2-3 years until he reaches his peak.

Awesome player. If Abraham gets in the squad rather than him it is simply a disgrace.
true, Abraham needs to get out of Chelsea. 15 league goals in his first prem season last year, and he's dumped on the sides for big money signings. He needs to get out and get to a club that'll play him week in week out. Calvert-Lewin got himself at a mid level prem side and they've persevered with him for 4 years and turned him into a very decent player.

I kind of get your point and Abraham started last season really well but his form at the back end of last season was awful which was why he lost his place to Giroud and then started this season on the bench.

He simply has to be in that England squad.

The 4 strikers IMO should be Kane, Rashford, DCL, Ings.

I'd say Sterling and Sancho are still classed as a 'midfielder', but they're pretty much a striker too and have to be included.

Agree with the above, Tammy shouldn't be anywhere near that squad based on the form of the other players.

If he’s not in the squad then Southgate will have made a huge mistake. Already the collateral that Gareth built up at the 2018 World Cup has gone and he needs to get results picking on form and not reputation. He can also bin off Pickford for the same reason.

Totally agree, but he appears to be one of Southgate's favourites who plays for a "big" club and gets into the squad regardless of form or ability - see also Winks, Dier, Barkley, Lingard, Gomez, Rice

Edit - just realised Rice plays for West Ham, so "big club" obviously doesn't apply in that particular case ;)

I like the additions of Saka and Barnes aswell. 30 squad gives plenty of players a chance to be in the squad. Think it’s right Foden and Greenwood were left out but they Definetly should be in the next squad. Foden has started the season well and Greenwood is different to anything we have.

Calvert Lewin is proving it’s not only about what you can do (I.e your ability) but what you choose to do (I.e staying within the width of the goal posts etc).

Personally I think that’s where Dele Alli has gone wrong over the last season or two. He hasn’t became a worse player, I’d expect technically he has actually improved playing with and against top prem players week in week out. But when he first arrived in the prem and was scoring lots of goals, I think most of them were because he was constantly making late runs in to the box / behind the defence etc whereas without having any statistics, I don’t think he is going that as much anymore.
