My fitness pal. Does what the other guy said but also has a barcode scanner so does it automatically. And it's free. And you can log your weight and exercise if you want. And it has meals from popular restaurants so you can have fish and chips from the chippy and know the approximate calories etc.

That's what I used to do. But it's not just for me, it's also for someone who needs the 'prompting" and ease of use of an app. (y)
