Burnley

So a last minute winner on Saturday and two goals tonight in injury time to turn it around. Its there season. Pulling away at the top.

it just occred to me that if CW had gone there, we would be above them now.
If CW had gone.. who would have been manager? Leo & Co or would we have had Bamba & Peltier stepping up? Carrick was turning clubs down in the Summer..

Who would we have ended up with I wonder?Kompany? Emery?

Rotherham played well but then they needlessly went down to 10 with a reckless sending off. They looked to be cruising at the time but they have a lot to learn maybe.

Burnley Debt.

It was mentioned last season that Burnley are saddled with a big debt, some of which was due on relegation. The sale of established first teamers was inevitable and Kompany was a gamble, but if the current momentum is maintained, promotion will ensure their financial security. Here`s a summary:

AHEAD OF THE GAME: Burnley's debt repayments will hinder Vincent Kompany's budget

27 Aug

Burnley have spent £32.3million this summer paying off almost half of the club’s £65m loan from MSD Holdings in a series of payments that will severely impact Vincent Kompany’s playing budget as he attempts to guide them back to the Premier League.

Sportsmail revealed in January that a significant part of what was initially an interest-only loan taken out to fund Burnley’s £170m takeover by ALK Capital (*) two years ago would become due if they were relegated last season, and the private equity firm have been quick to reclaim their money.

It is understood that Burnley made three payments to MSD (**) of £15m, £5m and £12.3m over the last three months, leaving a total of £32.7m left on the loan, which if they had not been relegated would not have been due until 2026.

Burnley have funded the repayments through player sales, with Dwight McNeil, Nathan Collins and Maxwell Cornet sold for a total of £57.5m. The departures of Ben Mee and James Tarkowski on frees also cut the wage-bill.

Lets see how Kompany's manages a drop off in form for them which must surely happen or a couple or three dodgy results....we play them 2nd game after the break which i'm looking forward to. A good time to play them me thinks....

It won't happen for sure. They have some decent players - unknowns who are playing out of their skin. Ian Maatsen tops the wing back charts, Manuel Benson is scoring from midfield and Rodrigues is a useful championship striker. They were missing Josh Cullen last night too who I rate highly.

95th and then a 100th minute winner. Its written in the stars. We never get that luck. I suppose you make it. Has the vibes of our promotion in 2015-16 when we scored late winners

Only takes a couple of injuries and or suspensions so we'll see....

Scored the winner in the 100th minute after being 1 - 2 down did the ref play until they scored ?
Their time wasting was shocking, the ref could have added 20 minutes and they couldn’t have complained
