Burnley v Watford - May be Off Too

League need to get a grip. Tail is definitely wagging the dog.
They should count suspensions as eligible to play.
convenient that no cup games got called off.
I’d sack afcon off or tell them to play it close season like other tournaments

IT should be based on number of covid cases, not on number of available first teamers. IF you've got a squad of 23 senior pros, with 8 injured, 4 in africa, and 2 suspended and one gets covid, that shouldn't be an excuse to cancel.

Just make it 5 positive covid cases in your registered players and you can call it off, anything else, get the kids out of the creche and play

Players get suspended all year , injured too , you know exactly when Afcon is played so get on with it , when you see how we werte dealt with years ago this is all a bloody disgrace , as is the media blatant ignorance of what is going on , they see it like we do ......but never question it .........they went after us like bloody pit bulls years ago . As i sadi on another thread in Europe if you have 13 players 5 first teamers , you play ....or lose points , no one takes the p155 & games go on

When is the "close season" ??

From the Quora (not the most reliable I know):-

Most European top flight leagues start in mid-to-late August and end in May, with the exception of Ireland, Norway and Sweden, which run from March to October/November.

South American leagues vary: The Brazilian Serie A starts in May and ends in December. The Argentine Primera Division runs from February to May. The Liga MX runs Aug-Dec.

The MLS regular season starts in March and ends in October.

African leagues usually start in September-October and end in June. South Africa uses “European dates”, and Kenya plays from March to November.

Exactly this, and it used to be. It's only COVID that has meant that teams can even open the discussion with the league about postponements, and it needs to be clamped down on.

Which absolutely begs the question -
Why play a tournament in January if it’s in the middle of your league season and most of the league seasons that your players play in.
