Burnley ugly in every sense...

Watched the game versus palace and they have nothing about themselves at all, snatched a goal but just sit in their own box and are ugly to watch
Horrible horrible team....dysche for me kills the game with the way he approaches games, they live for a set piece, terrible example for football in England as far as I’m concerned

Hes done a good job keeping a small club in the Premier League.
Football insiders - including national media - are reporting a rift between gravel voice and his chairman. Dysche is complaning that spending less than 10M year is not enough to sustain the club in the Prem [fair enough].
Players will be effected, no matter what anyone says.
Internal rifts permeate all areas of a business.
With a large number of their players contracts ending in a few weeks, its hard to see how they will be able to replace Prem players on a shoestring.
Its not a good situation to be in.
We know what that feels like though dont we?!

You understand them not spending money initially putting their house in order but the longer you stay in the prem the bigger the wages the players will expect. At some point you have to act like an established club and pay players a bit more. This is when the danger kicks in.

if Burnley are paying low wages and spending 10M per year you do have to ask wher all the money is going, it’s not like Turf Moor is a palace, they probably still have those wooden seats in the away end I bet.

Apparently the Chairman, Mike Garlick, is very risk-averse and in an interview in September last year restated his reluctance to spend "big" on players. Jay Rodrigues cost 10M GBP`s. I dont think any other player has cost them as much [correct if wrong]. Its a fine principle, but we all know money and common sense doesnt go with the Prem.
If Dysche leaves I cant see Burnley staying long in the top flight.

8th in the Prem is a good situation to be in!

Seems like that situation at Bolton a few years ago, big Sam thought they could get 4th but the chairman didn't want to give him the money, dysche should wind his neck in and get on with it or go somewhere else

He's done an amazing job. It's awful football but what choice does he has? Try and play a better style with the players he has and they'll struggle.

The chairman is very lucky to have him. Credit for sticking by him following the first relegation of course but that lack of investment in the vast majority of cases leads to relegation. Not sure Dyche would stay if it happened again.

Low expectations have also helped. Familiarity breeds contempt as we know and eventually their fans will start to feel entitled to being a mid table Prem club, much as we did. But they probably had such low expectations when Dyche took over they're probably still just very grateful to be punching well above their weight, regardless of the style of football on offer.

Dyche has no other choice but to play like that with the players at his disposal.

His target is to guarantee Premier League football by whatever means whilst having one of the smaller budgets in the league.

He not only makes them survive, but he manages to over achieve with the squad he has, every single season.

He's a fantastic manager and one that Burnley will regret losing if they don't start investing in the squad.

I can honestly see Burnley dropping like a bomb once he leaves.

He currently has them above Arsenal in the league....after 30 odd games played! That is a remarkable achievement for a club like Burnley.

If his name was Shaun El Dychio he'd be managing a Champions League club with his record....especially when the likes of Lampard, Ole, Arteta have achieved absolutely sod all in their managerial career.

I was just commenting on their lack of natural adventurous as a team. I don’t think I seen 3 passes strung together
They are just plain ugly to watch
Mine was a general comment focused on the experience when watching them and they play like that and walked away with a win. 🤔😮😔

It’s about sustainability at that level for Burnley and let’s be honest they don’t look convincing for the long term.

8th in the premier just now is marvellous etc, and it is a great achievement for a club the size and location of Burnley, but as we all know there are plenty of Championship (and lower) teams who not long ago were riding high in apparent premier league comfort.

There is a good point above about their stadium, they should have taken the opportunity to rebuild at least some of it in preparation for when they go down and the money dries up again.

The chairman maybe thinks the recent success is more down to him than Dyche, these types of people have big egos.

Agreed, but a number of first teamers are out of contract and Dysche wants money to replace them.
You can see his point of view: in the Premiership they cant wait on players with "potential" or loan players who have little investment in the club.
Dysche feels strong enough to come out a express is disgruntlement with the Chairman - which he doesnt usually do - suggesting he and the chair dont see eye to eye.
With a short break between this and next season, recruiting, training and integrating new players isnt going to be easy - even with Dysche skills.
A club like Burnley hasnt the depth of squad for players to step up and fill the gaps.
Its the big picture which is important.
A similar club is bournem,outh.

Not sure I get what you are saying. I was responding to you saying they hadn’t paid more than 10m for a player
Dysche is quoted as saying he cant sustain the team with the club spending "10M a season" [net] on players.
Infering the Chairman isnt prepared to spend for next season.
Burnley have a habit of getting a reasonable selling price for players - but how long can that sustain the club?
