All signed in the last three years as back up or cover but not one of them good enough to be a starter, each and every one of them taking up sh*tloads of cash in fees, loan fees and wages.

There’s constant talk of ‘the model’ but we don’t really appear to be doing that, or at least not doing it *that* well - not as well as it’s been done by others, who did it first and potentially cornered a lot of the markets we will be looking at. You need to be signing players to go into the team. If there’s joined up thinking then your recruitment team have identified replacements right across the board and been buying them in and getting them out on loan, ready for the time when the senior player in their position is about to be sold on for big money. This is what the clubs we appear to be imitating have done but it’s not what we are doing.

Clubs that are serious about winning promotion are not signing Burgzorg, or Silvera, or George Edmundson or any of the other League One players on that list above.

We need better than Burgzorg. Much, much better, and we need it ASAP. More players like him joining this summer and it’s another season of second-tier football for us in 26/27.

If he put his mind to it .. physically, Burgzorg should/ could look to play like Crooks ..
He's got the physical aspects to do it ..
Play like a big man.
Be a championship bully

He won't though ... He'll still win no headers, and hope to get a free kick by falling over
 
Hardly set the world alight at Huddersfield. Shows flashes and I think that's why we took a gamble to try and develop him.
Overall, I think he's always going to flatter to deceive. I d rather Matt Crooks as an impact sub tbh.

Agree it is an odd thing to post, it reflects poorly on him as it airbrushes reality, it is the Trump and Johnson effect, make things out to be better than they actually are in the hope it somehow sticks.

What galls me is that comments like that take supporters for mugs. You then get the trolls of the world trying to deliberately cause a wind up thinking it is funny and how clever they are (not). However, there is always someone stupid enough to fall for it. I wish the team had been relentless, relentless on trying to win football matches instead of defending like a bunch of Sunday league pub players at times. Finishing 10th losing 18 games, 2 more than Preston who were nearly relegated shows the reality, contrary to some peoples views the league does not lie and we deserved to be where we finished, we certainly did not deserve better.
 
Must admit, whilst trying to be generally positive for next year, he'd be one of the first I'd look to move on.

He was taken out the side during his best spell by Carrick for no reason

Ultimately signed as a squad player and has fulfilled that role fairly well.

We have bigger problems in this side to fix than him

Indeed...
One is the Left forward wide starting position, cos Mcgree is injured too often, and Burgzorgs stats aren't good enough to not work hard defensively.
( See the same for the right )

As a squad player, .. 10 starts , 15 subs on ... He's fine

He's another that doesn't have the attributes for 4 2 3 1

I don’t mind him. He obviously doesn’t possess much quality in the final third, something I thought he would improve as the season went on but he actually got worse.

He does work hard and at least he cares, which is more than we can say about a lot of them.

Unless he does improve, he’d only be making 10-15 starts in a season at the most and I’m not sure that’s the role he sees himself playing.
 
I’d look to move McGree on first and replace him as the starting LW.

Not against moving Burgzorg on either, but I’d rather sort the main 11 out first, then try to improve the back up after.

Its 30m we have got I think. That list of dross we have bought is scary.
There are players out there who are better than we have and could afford.
Cant remember names but rudoni and their right back in the Coventry team plus Sainz from Norwich would bolster our team by miles

Although I can't see Norwich selling Sainz would be an interesting one. I would be intrigued to see how our nice manager and nice team react to the introduction of an absolute shíthouse.
