It sounds like he has raw talent and will benefit from being coached properly. I would trust Carrick and the coaches to develop him like they have plenty of others. It does *feel* a bit underwhelming in some ways but until he’s played a few games we have no real idea. Look ar someone like Latte Lath last season. His decision making and finishing was very rash, raw, unsophisticated in his first dozen or so matches but as the season went along and he settled in he ended up looking like a top-end striker for our league, and won an international call up. So you just never know.
 
Like I said in my earlier post I hope he proves me wrong as I’ve seen him live seven times last season. Flashes of a good player but can’t spot a pass. Hopefully better in a much settled and together squad. Confidence is the key.
Sorba Thomas on his day is either class or just shy’s away but is worth a punt just for his set pieces and would be a handy squad member.

As Viv posts you have to see him play for us first.
I hope we still get those 5 first team injections of quality that have been strongly suggested are our summer window focus, and he wont be one of those.

Just look how much better we are with Jones in the side. You'd have to say his final ball and decision making isn't always the best. Yet he's vitality important to how we set up.

I think he said that he likes to play for himself. I’m hoping that’s something that’s just lost in translation. A team player he needs to be, which I’m sure MC will coach into him.
 
Even if you take the bad comments - he is fast and direct, runs at his man, scored 7 in a struggling team - mostly from the wing.

That is something we need in the squad.

We can only afford to spend more than this on 1-2 players. The 5 players they were talking about buying 2-3 will be around this price. The idea of 8million for Archer is fantasy land for an established championship club.

How much discovery spend on hadji wright or Brentford on Toney a couple of years? How much you spend on players depends on how much you bring in for players largely
 
Definitely a head scratcher but you have to believe in the MCs selections so far. Let’s hope the coaching staff can shape this guy into a team player and one that can be successful on or off the bench.
