Britt

Surely it's got to be the same team, they deserve it for their work rate alone.
Good to see the whole eleven putting in a shift like they did.

Yet the same Britt will score a hat full for another team - you do know that don't you?
no he won't, he has never scored a hatful in this league. In fact his best season ever was his first season with us, with a completely underwhelming 15 league goals. His busted knee stopped him being a decent striker at this level.

If you quote me, why not quote the lot?.
I SAID Assombalonga won’t start again UNLESS Akpom and Roberts are injured.
Would you put that lump in before either of them now !.
I certainly would if either of them get tired or need a rest. Its a bit daft to suggest he would never start again ahead of two others.

Assombalonga will never play in the premiership again thats for certain.

He needs to lose weight, get fitter and practice heading, ball control, shooting and maintaining the upright position when nudged.

Do all that and he might get a few tap in’s for somebody.......won’t be Boro though. He probably won’t score four goals before he clears off.
This idea that he is a feared striker is a joke.
Aye.......on us.
Look, I have supported this fella through thick and thin, mostly thin since he came to the club.
He is not the player we thought he was and is actually detrimental now given the way we look like playing under Warnock.
The game stops as soon as he gets the ball and invariably the next referee decision is a free kick, throw in or goal kick to the opposition.
I’ve had enough if him.

I've said it before but Britt is a one-dimensional striker. The only way to use him effectively is as an advanced forward, playing on the shoulder of the defender. During his time here he's never played in a system which has suited him.

Under Pulis he was asked to play with his back to goal, and essentially to be a target man which we know isn't his game. I'm amazed he scored as many goals as he did under Pulis to be honest.

Woodgate thought all he had to do was make Britt feel loved and show a bit faith in him but again he was left isolated, as he was asked to play as a lone striker, with 3 central midfielders.

Much as I dislike Monk, I have to say I feel Monk was the manager who understood him the most, and knew how to get the best out of him. Britt was the 2nd highest goalscorer in the league until Pulis came in.

Had we signed him for £1.5m and paid him £15k per week he would be fine as a middling Championship centre forward.
It's going to be an interesting 2021 for him.
A run down contract and then sign for somebody else free next summer, but on close to maintaining current terms is my guess.
And that will underline why he has been a really really bad signing for us.
See also Fletcher.

Exactly !
This bloke should be giving Boro everything he has for the last few months of his time here.
He has been very well paid for a a very shoddy return.
My 1st guess is that Boro will Try to take under million for him in January.
Just to get shot of him and his wages.
My other guess is that he hangs about till the summer drawing an obscene amount A La Gestede.
Then he will disappear out of the back door.
One thing is for certain I would never, ever have given him that Captains armband.

to be fair that team that won did get a lucky goal, I dont think we would have scored without their error so I think we do need two strikers

Britt has never played in the prem

He is a poor player, clearly his knee injury hampered his career, and robbed him of a bit of pace. But with his stocky build, it was always likely that he would not retain the pace anyway,

His actual technical and tactical ability is poor. His goal scoring is vastly over-rated and seems to be based around meaningless stats about how he has scored more championship goals than anyone else in the last 6 years....but that is only true because good strikers move up and onwards to the prem.

Britt is at best a middling championship striker. He has only ever once in 6 attempts finished in the leagues top 10 goalscorers. That tells you everything. I ain't jumping on a bandwagon here, I said it before we signed him, and repeated even during his purple patch of 3 months under Monk, because even though he scored enough goals in that spell, he also proved his poor technique, and we lost a lot of games because we were effectively defending with 10 men.

Same team as Tuesday if possible.

I would be happy with that. My only temptation would be would to bring Tavernier in for Spence as I was disappointed with his performance again but I won’t argue if we keep the same side. Hopefully Spence improves if we do.

I can’t be bothered to tot up his penalties and free kicks, but take them off and his open play goals rate is Shocking.
