Britt Assombalonga - ‘Great freebie’ - Nottingham Forest fans upbeat on prospect of striker return [Evening Post]

Shut it you, I've told you a million times not to exaggerate 😂 it's 1 in 6 and Indeedido has gleefully pointed out.

I just hope we've got the money to buy Harry Kane, probably the only striker Indeedido would be happy with..... you're all living in cloud cuckooland 😵
I'll tell you one thing I'll be gleefully pointing out and that is the day the bone idle tvvat is no longer here stinking the place out.

There's no such thing as a "great freebie" when a club commits itself to 3 or 4 years of high wages for a player who is already a multi millionaire and has no incentive to stretch himself too much ever again.

Forest have already triumphed concerning this player in the transfer fee they received. They would be stupid to put a millstone around their necks and lost all that advantage. They are not that stupid. Or are they ?

Leigh Curtis at Notts Post is actually a Magpies fan and always bulls up the Trees.
They are waiting for the Messiah - for the last 30+ years and are grateful for thin shafts of sunlight.
Promised the earth, they at least know Britt - so they wont be too disappointed.

I posted this on other Brit thread

My big issue with Brit is not his lack of goals per se it’s more the lack of anything else as with his goals he offers nothing.

he never lays it off for a team mate never looks up for a player in a better position never provides the killer pass never really creates anything of note.

No he runs head down and shoots be that at the goal near the goal or over the goal time and time again he’s going u kick it it as hard as he can towards the goal region regardless of how good his or his team mates positioning is.

What mask?
I have got steadily sicker of him as the months have progressed.
I can't say it any clearer surely?

You used to say it wasn't personal
That's fair enough if that has changed
He'll be gone in 11 weeks and 6 hours and 54 minutes

I was not happy he - and Fletcher who was even worse on the day - got game time for us Saturday
We should only use players who will be here next see season, and hopefully Akpom will be added to those not here

It's not just his goals. He offers nothing else. Im intregued when people say 'we don't play to his strengths'. What are they?

I read he has 4 assists in 4 seasons... That's stunning. He has no 'situational awerness' as to what's going on around him.

I am pretty confident he will get 10-15 for whoever he signs for. He will probably score more than whoever we sign. I still want shot though.

He had the instinct when he was younger , he scored goals with hunger to score .
We paid over the top for him , he was reccomended 2 year earlier.
He will get a move , and earn good money , maybe he has enough already ( which he should have ) and doesn't have the desire to improve .
Maybe , he is happy with his cake , he seems a laid back lad , and maybe life is fine .
Good luck to him , IMO , he seems like a nice lad so good luck Britt .

The £15million price tag isn't his fault. But he hasn't done enough to make me think he's tried hard enough to meet the performance his wages suggest.
We might not play to his strengths, but I'm not sure he's tried hard enough to adapt to ours. No professional should stop learning and developing, even if they lose a bit of pace. It's their profession.
