Britain has just saved £72bn.... German MEP celebrates Brexit as he lays into EU spending plans for coronavirus recovery fund

And we could be pulling together with the EU in this fight with Covid19 instead of joining up for this fight with China.
I don't necessarily disagree with that. I was just pointing out that had we still been EU members, we would have had our EU share to pay, and we would have supplemented that with internal spending in any case. How much? We don't know as we do not know how the EU money will be distributed. It also would not have stopped us spaffing money up the wall. By far the biggest economic factor in covid spending is the thieving sods in government. Whilst this spend is much lower than furlough payments, it was wasted in almost all instances, had no economic benefit as with the furlough payments.

Why do these always end up as EC good US bad.

As I keep telling you with the exception of Ireland and it's assistance to German intelligence I cannot think of an English speaking country we have been at war with in my parents lifetime.

I would still rather trust US before the EC.

You trust the US over the EC because the US speak English and we've not recently, in historic terms, been at war with them?

I think I'm missing something here.

Pretty much, yes, the reality is in the end they have saved us. It means a lot to me.

The English language has nothing to do with it, its just a very loose fact. I could easily of excluded France.

Another difference between you and I is that I don't think Brexiteers are any more stupid than Remainers. I think their vote is equal to mine and as just.

Your point makes no sense in the context of Brexit, none at all, just like your loose fact.

And is your last point aimed at me?

The last comment is due to the go to answer on Brexiteers on here is that they are thick and uneducated, see CTC comment. On the whole the major industrial towns in the north and Midlands voted to leave , Remainers despise them .

As for the EC, I personally have nothing in common with it. I even went to Brussels to watch it in action, or I should say inaction.

I worked in Spain apart from accepting the Euro grants they pretty much ignored everything else .

Look at the labels on the goods you buy and see how many come from the EC , I doubt 5% do. It was arranged as a trading block, now it is only a political passe.

I do not see the need for any any law maker above the UK supreme court. Why is a Greek judge better than a UK judge ?

Sections of this country, indeed what many see as the top level, assisted German intelligence.

‘I do not see the need for any any law maker above the UK supreme court. Why is a Greek judge better than a UK judge ?’
And - why would a UK judge be better than a Greek judge?

Regardless of that - what laws have we had to take on from the EU have upset you so much?

Probably none, therefore why the need?

The entire Brexit campaign of leave was based on dismissing anyone who questioned any of the promises made by them as project fear as soon as their argument unravelled.

The reasons you gave, if they were enough for you to vote leave then so be it. I can of course point out arguments against each one with counter benefits and how overall we will be worse off as a isolated and fragmented nation that will rely more than ever on a fractured United States.

My logic is, why is an extra level of review required when the always agree.

To enforce the EU laws that you have found no issue with, you need an law court accountable to all its members, not just the UK.

And they dont always agree with our courts.

Not being a member now allows the downgrading of these laws which have on the whole, been to our benefit as UK citizens.
