Brilliant Interview - Bill Nelson - 40 Years Of Recordings

My favourite artist, always followed his own path and never compromised. Consequently he hasn't made the fortune others have done, but keeps working and is very prolific. Check out his website:

I bought Futurama on CD from a charity shop a few years back, and it was a fascinating journey into a hidden 1975, bizarre songs, great guitar, very creative, but sometimes sounds like the rest of the band just couldn't keep up with Nelson's speed of thought. Really worth a listen though, really different.

Hes the sort of artist you can "appreciate" rather than just "like".
His eclecticism is similar to Todd Rundgren with his "Utopia" and solo projects.
Compare "Hermit of Mink Hollow" to "Oops Wrong Planet".
Bill is one of a kind.
This, for me, was his "new wave" album.

Watch out for the remastered version of this album later in the year. All of the Be Bop ones (apart from the live one) have been given the treatment. Never considered the Todd Rundgren comparison, Roofie, that's interesting. Rundgren's an artist I've never listened to very much, must investigate.
