Brazilian COVID variant now found in the UK

I’m not willing to get hyped up over this, lockdown and vaccine are working. Cases are continuing to decline and with It any mutations ability to spread. I’d hope these 6 cases result in another 6-10 cases max.

Exactly. Variants are variants. They will happen. I’m not an expert in this but I haven’t heard anywhere that it’s likely that a variant completely stops the vaccine working. It may reduce its efficacy but the current vaccines we have have killer efficacy rates. They are really really high, all in the 90% plus range. which is a very good thing.

You don't have to get hyped up. See the tweet I linked. 👍🏻
I was playing in the garden with my son today, sun shining and thought for the first time in ages how nice it was to not feel worried by Covid and that things are under control.

A vast contrast from last spring when even when the weather was amazing, there was a lingering worry of where was the virus, how many people had it, could I catch it even on a daily walk and I didn’t go to a shop in 4 months.

Yeah I've had a superb day today. We avoided the summit of Roseberry Topping because of the crowds of xharvers mooching up there so went captain cooks monument instead. Also visited what me and the kids call the fairy woods, has a little stream mad a couple of tiny waterfalls running through it.

Sounds a good Sunday to me. I used to love doing the “3peaks” Roseberry, Highclifre and then on to CCM.

Where are the fairy woods? Would be keen to take the little one when we get to come up.

Aye. The week before schools in England go back aswell. Anything wrote in the papers this week will be designed to do one thing and one thing only. Scare.
papers are owned by billionaires who largely want the economy open. YEs there will be some scaremongering, but it isn't all down to that.

Aireyholme Lane. Right hand side just past the houses on the right.

If you say so.
It's not about what I say, I'm just repeating facts, billionaires who own papers need the economy open to maximise their return on investments. We have seen plenty of articles proclaiming how not to worry, how it'll be all over, how the government has it all under control etc.

We've also seem the papers bang on about the South African variant and the Kent variant.

What ever happened to them by the way?
