It's the 90th minute of the Champions League final.

Boro get a penalty, you can choose any Boro player, past or present to take it.

Who do you choose?

Yakubu or Leadbitter for me.

zenden. Scored in shoot out v Everton, spurs and final.

yakubu missed couple especial in cup game v Bristol city I think

John was a legendary penalty taker. Incredible run up scared the keeper stiff but then placed the ball with his in step.
He missed his final spot kick, it was like the gunslinger losing his last gun fight.
Very difficult to beat Grant Leadbitter, the way he picked up the ball and walked away to the edge of the area facing away from all the arguments and waited until everyone was in position, spotted the ball, never looking at the keeper once and cleared his mind before hitting it into the corner.
Grant or Big John were both incredible.

Rav bottles 2 big pens though. Last minute v villa and chesterfield. Hignett took both

Cracking question, I would go with big John Hickton for nostalgia & as he's my favourite player of all time, but how good was Grant, it is hard to say who is the better one

Didn't Grant miss his 1st Boro penalty away to QPR only to score from the resulting corner?

Me, 100% record at Ayresome Park.
December 1981 i think it was, Holgate end schools penalty comp. 1st pen...back of the net.

I'm 100% certain Ravanelli took that pen verses Villa. It was a massive 3pts and remember it clearly. We had to win that day if we had any chance of staying up.

Sorry yeah my mistake. He didn’t fancy it v Chesterfield. Great pen v villa.

Definitely John Hickton for me, as well. His famous 15-yard run up will always live long in the memory.
