Wow Block86 thats a great find, I was always under the impression Stephen Pears was our 1st loan signing

According to records I've compiled he was the 1st Boro player to score 5 in a game, which was on the 2nd Mrach 1901

Our 1st league hattrick was scored by Joseph Murphy against Burton Swift in an 8-1 win on the 11th November 1899 at Linthorpe Road in division 2 fixture
John Brown had scored 4 goals on the 8th December 1900
Alexander Robertson scored 3 on the 23rd february 1901

My 'loan signing knowledge' goes back before Pearsy.
Remember Dave Thomas ?
And yes, Wilkie did score 5 v Gainsborough
Boro's Official site states he was the first to score a league hat trick.
Which is obviously incorrect as Joseph Murphy did score 3 in 1899 (his debut) (Wilkie also scored)
and John Brown incidentally was born in 1876.
I feel the Official site needs updating as it has Micky Fenton being the last to score 3 v Leeds (Bamford)
