Boro women

Boro Women u23 lost to York City today in the County cup final. York are in the same league as Boro Women’s 1st team. They were unfortunate as they hit the bar twice in first half and Yorks goal came from a corner which wasn’t a corner. The u23 team is made up of a number of 16 year olds and they didn’t look out of place against a senior National league side. The future looks good for the Womens team! UTBW!!!

Up the boro women!

I saw they were having the trophy there also for fans to have their picture with.

The Venky's not wishing to commit any funding required for that level it seems. They will drop below Boro's new level if that article proves correct.
It must be difficult for some clubs to pay a full squad and the supporting staff when there's very little support from the paying fan.

Will Gibbo simply increase the price of season tickets for the men's team as the financial demands from the women's side grow?

What was the average gate for the Boro women games last season , and the cost to get in?

The women’s side is very low cost compared to the mens side however. The world record transfer fee for women’s players is £900k and wages are no where near the mens level.

Boro women were free for season ticket holders and kids and £5 I believe for over 18s. I believe our average attendance was around 3-400 per game.

Could you think of this as maybe an added value for a season ticket - and as Moreno has detailed costs are relatively low?
Certainly the excitement towards the end of last season with the promotion push and the record crowd at the Riverside and away at Barnsley shows the real potential.
But the effects in schools and inspiring young people in general is surely so good for the area. We had some terrible negative publicity a few years ago about women's aspirations and achievements being very low from Middlesbrough and Teesside - or it was alleged. A successful, well supported women's team is certainly providing possible career paths on and off the field and raising hopes and aspirations as well as fitness for girls and young women.

The average was 703, lowest gate of 260+, pretty good going, obviously the average boosted by the Riverside gate, but still a decent average.

It's not that far short of Stockton's average gate to be fair, and well above Northern League averages.

Will the lasses play much at the riverside stadium next season?
Not next year, but it may be necessary if we were to achieve promotion to maximise income from supporters and sponsors. I can see the new staff requirements and need to go fully professional (our players are part-time) making promotion from the 3rd tier a bit of a poisoned chalice to some smaller clubs.
