Boro vs Watford

Jesus Christ they have a strong looking squad!! Big too!! Still, it's not the size that matters apparently x

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name and it's thirsty work. Unfortunately The Waterboy had forgotten the recipe for H20 and Robbie Keane couldn't help him with his medulla oblongata. I'm glad another elephant in the room has been addressed with our goalkeeping situation and would fully expect Marcus to start this Friday. Our defence looks a little 'shyt the bed' at the movement but I'm encouraged by Warnocks pre season assessment of Paddy McNair. 'Boro's Beckenbauer' will do me just fine. It's early doors with Grant Hall but wouldn't fancy dropping him in it this early on, still looks a bit ring rusty and getting to terms with his teammates. Deal Fry seems to have gone a little off the boil of late, whether talk of a move away has turned his head or he's just going through a bit of a lull I couldn't possibly say. Nathan Wood meanwhile seems very much to be switched on a raring to go, we love a good old knee jerk and to put unnecessary pressure on our young players.. but blooming heck get the lad in. He looks fearless, chuck him in at the deep end before he knows any better. The rest of the team is what it is.. don't think there's much choice there to be honest. I'm backing Cool Hand Neil to crack open the half pints of sherry and raw egg for the boys on Thursday night, lets show these premier league fly boys what the championship is all about. Get Hard, Flash Hard, Stay Hard UTB!!

------------------Bettinelli--------------
-------Dijksteel--McNair--Wood------
Spence------------------------Johnson
-------Howson--Tavernier--Saville-----
---------------Britt--Fletcher------------

vs

----------Wellbeck--Deeney------------
Pereyra---Doucoure----Hughes---Sarr
Masina--Kabasele--Dawson--Femenia
-----------------Foster------------------

Mydilsburg vs Albanestou - Diu triach Cavalo di Septa

Deeney has been training away from the squad, doubt he will be involved. Doucoure won't be risked i don't think with a move on the horizon, same with Sarr. Still strong team though.

Betinelli
Spence
Dijksteel
Hall
Fry
Johnson
Howson
McNair
Saville
Britt
Fletcher

Think Tav will come on from the bench.

I genuinely think it's a 'better' (rather than good) time to play them.

A new manager and players who they may not play due to wanting to sell. Also many never played in the champo.

I expect them to be in and around top 6 but its a blank canves on Friday. No fans makes it a level playing field and also takes 4-6 weeks for everyone to get up to speed.

I'd take a draw. That said think it's winnable under Warnock and last seasons Post lockdown away form👍

Going Boro 0-1

Bettinelli (if he signs)

Dijksteel
Hall
Fry

Spence
Saville
Howson
Tav
Johnson

Fletcher
Assombalonga

Subs - Stojanovic , Coulson, Wood, McNair , Wing, Sanogo ( if he signs) Walker

I am gonna go for a 1-1 draw

Definitely the best time to play them.

Away wins have become routine under Warnock, Watford don’t have any super powers. Watford will be fragile and some players may be hoping for a move away so might not give 100%. First goal is key for me. I can see their heads drop if we keep it tight for the first 20 mins and get the first goal. It is just 11 blokes v 11 blokes after all.

Nothing to be afraid of in truth, so I will go Watford 2 v Free Scoring Boro 3.
Another goal fest for Boro on Sky TV. (y)

Ps..... (I reserve the right after the game to claim my account had been hacked today by an internet ne’r-do-well and the right to immediately predict doom, gloom, impending relegation and how woeful any new signings appeared and that Britt couldn’t hit a cow‘s arris with a banjo). ;)

Good time to play both Watford and Bournemouth he says hopefully.
I'd take two draws though.
C'mon Boro

Doucoure just signed for Everton.

I can see a draw as opening games tend to be tight cagey affairs.
I’d take a draw but I think we need to go all out, the prem boys are looking for moves looking of their shoulder and stinking of defeat. We’re the all new Warno powered promotion machine, underdogs but highly talented bunch. We’ll be able to get a measure of them based on prem performances.. we’re more of an unknown quantity. I’m going for a very close 3-2 victory that could go either way.
