BORO strikers scoring on debut

Did Ikpeazu do it? Thought he played at Fulham on the first day of the season.

He did, for some reason I'd forgotten that was the first game, woops.

Probably because I was on my way back from a stag do for it and only watched the last 10 minutes in a pub, so I missed almost all of it.

I guess I could also have got mixed up with him scoring on his home debut.

ah well there you go. Did we suffer another home defeat shortly before that? I seem to remember we hit a mini crisis and his signing was announced on what's now BBC Tees on the way home after a match
I remember coming out of the ground & MP announcing a new striker coming in & we had to phone the clubs callline to get more information, forsome reason I always thought it was the Reading game myself, but Uwe played v Reading, unless there was talk of another striker coming in, which didnt happen

looking at the results we drew at home to Grimsby on a night match 10 days before (no game the weekend before the Reading match). Maybe it was after that Grimsby match

No i'm sure it was the Reading game, as we were walking out, it was 100% a saturday fixture

Mr Middlesbrough became the 80th different Boro player to score on his debut when he scored his trademark penalty in a 3-2 home win over Workington Town, we were 2-0 down at the time

He scored the penalty on his 22nd birthday - 24th September 1966
My first game attending without an adult.

@Jedi boro, Not a debut goal but Colin Cooper scored his 1st Boro 1st team goal at home to WBA

The winner in a 2-1 win after Andy Gray out WBA one nil up late in the game, 1988
