Boro Shirt collection

As others have said, some cracking shirts there. I'd be interested to know where people source match worn shirts ?

Some of the supposedly match worn ones that come up on eBay, especially located abroad, look highly dubious to me.

My favourite shirt is the McCleans homes for sentimental reasons when my younger brother had a horrific works accident in early 86
I wrote to the club asking if the late, great Willie Maddren could send some players to visit him at the General hospital, unfortunately WM got sacked the day I took the letter to AP, a woman took my letter & said she'll place it on the next managers desk, Bruce picked up the letter, called in Mogga & told him to pick players & visit my brother, Mogga, who knew my brother gave him the shirt & 'pennant, my brother gave them to me

They sure do. Although you can get genuine ones too. I remember about 10/12 years ago a series of 1980-82 Datsun Cleveland sponsored shirts complete with embroided logos and those, unique to match worn, 3-striped adidas numbers on the back came up for auction on there. I kept each one on watch just to see what they sold for, with every one fetching around the £220-£250 mark.
I eventually messaged the seller to cheekily ask where he obtained them from, only to be told he bought them as a job lot from a charity shop in Wakefield!

Charity shop, that's madness
10 years ago too, crazy prices

It does happen, but charity shop don't put many football shirts out any more. They end up in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. The question above is that its getting harder to tell match shirts.

How do they end up in Eastern Europe?

i have noticed on eBay some obscure 80’s and 90s shirts coming from those parts

I have kind of worked out its the nothing East charity collections. Far more boro, Newcastle and Sunderland than there should be. Unless they are dropped at the shops they don't go out. They go to the Ukraine.

What are you looking for specifically. I ha e almost completed what I want. Just 2 match worns to go to complete my 88 to 2020 matchworn run.

Late 70's, early 80's, which most likely won't come up
I'm happy with my collection, as you are with yours if nothing comes up it'll be fine
