FINAL RESULTS OF BORO QUIZ - junos_boots favourite 90s-ish goals

There have finally been some tie break entries - no correct ones though. Use private messaging to enter so it can keep running for any tie break situation.

Question, wil it only matter regarding tie break entries, if there equal at the end

On another note erimus is flying up the table 👍
Yes no bonus points, just to separate ties. It was only a fun twist. Mind you God knows what adverts google will direct at me, considering some of the music videos I have been searching for. Wait until you see tomorrows shocker!

Enjoyed watching the videos, thanks Juno....

Hendries Millwall goal... sat in the terrace seats just under where Millwall manager Rioch was sitting in the stand and watched him take the ball well inside the Boro half and on our side..., Dad shouted "Go on son take them on" ... and he did...he weaved, dropped his shoulder, stumbled a little, and ran and ran... .. never seen anything like it ay Ayresome since I started going in 1969 ... must be up there as Best Goal ever at Ayresome

Great player for the Boro, great signing by Toddy & a very nice genuine bloke
He scored some very good & important goals at the Boro & enjoyed his time emensley
3 hat tricks for the Boro, the last goalscorer at Ayresome Park, always has time to talk to as many Boro fans at the reunions I've attended & still as popular now as we was in his playing days, good on ya Hendrie

A top, top player signing for us when he was still in his prime & stayed

My 3 JH goals

1st goal - 13th October 1990 at home to Millwall, the days before I left my 20's & moving into my 30's, when scoring one of the best solo goals at AP on Bruce Riochs 1st return back to AP after his unfortunate dismissal, receiving the ball off another excellent signing Robbie Mustoe just outside our box & ran & ran & ran towards the holgate to finally slip the ball past future Boro loaner keeper Horne & a 2-1 win

2nd goal - 30th October 1990 a wonder strike at home to Norwich in a 2-0 win, in a 2nd round league Cup fixture to book Boro in to the next round

3rd goal - 30th April 1995 Scoring Boro's final league goal at AP as the mighty Boro won the fame 2-1 to practically confirm promotion

Just a bit of notice. Results will be published a little later today. We have a zoom chat with some friends in the uk scheduled for 12 noon uk time today. Result will probably be there before 2pm uk time.

John Hendrie one of my favourite Boro players. Was really pleased when we signed him and wasn't disappointed. Am going to have to go with the majority here as he scored a couple of the best goals I saw at Ayresome...

(1) Solo goal v Millwall...he just didn't stop, Maradonnaesque!
(2) Norwich League Cup 1990...some great tricks and a brilliant long range effort
(3) Sheff Wed away 1993....deft lob/chip...could we complete a great escape?....err no! Sat in the Leppings Lane and the only time I've heard any Wednesday fans cheer a Sheffield United win😡

So many others eased out at the death, not least the final goal at Ayresome, his second in the hat trick against Blackburn and goal against the Makems in 93/94.

I have just clocked that there is some form of side competition to guess the link between all the cheesy videos that have been posted daily? I am guessing there is little point in guessing until the very end as it only comes into play if there is a tie at the top? Or is it the aim to be first one to guess correctly? Anyway to Johnny Hendrie.

First time I saw John Hendrie play was at Bradford in the League Game we lost 2-0. He roasted Colin Cooper that afternoon and he was brilliant. He played against us in the playoffs later that season and again we had two on him all the time, sometimes three. Never dreamt we would sign him and he would go on to become one of my favourite ever players. He was exciting, conOr is the first one to get it? sistent and a pivotal member of the side throughout the first half of the 90s. Great goals and Im not going to disagree at all on the first one.

1. Millwall home 1990. "That" goal that every fan who was around then talks about. What other goal conjures up such fond memories as that jinking run. I remember FMTTM doing a cartoon on that goal. It had Johnny running around the transporter bridge, past Roseberry Topping, down Linthorpe Road before beating thirty five men including a dog and then slotting it home. A truly legendary goal.

2. THAT goal against Luton - the final goal at Ayresome Park in May 1995. It may have been just a close range tap in but how important, how joyous were we.

3. That fabulous strike against Norwich in the League Cup in 1990. Truly spectacular.

The next player in the list - Mikkel Beck

Arrived as a novel ‘Bosman signing’ which took sme sorting out before his debut. I think it is fair to say that he had a mixed time for the Boro, especially in that first season where Ravenelli seemed to drain his confidence with his regular whinges at him.

As people have commented in previous rounds though, he was an important part of Robbos team, as the number of times he assisted the goalscorers in previous rounds is phenomenal. He also scored 31 times in his spell at The Riverside

He was only here for 3 seasons before we sold him to Derby, where he topped a poll of worst ever Derby player, which seems incredibly harsh to me. Looking back now he was another of the players who we just didn’t appreciate how good he really was (at least I didn’t)

Again MFC have helped us out with this goals compilation – and there are some good ones in there.

We will use the connection quiz to sort out any ties - earlier you get it right, the more credit you get, have as many goes as you want. Private message the answer though (still no correct answers)

The reason for the videos originally was because you can't easily put a start time on the first youtube link in a post. So rather than have first clip beginning at start of match, I put a music video related to that days player.

Just spotted that NZBoro1 has yet to post an answer. I originally said I would be late processing the results. However my zoom chat started early and has finished now. So I am starting to process the results.

So far, everyone has picked the same top goal. I am going to assume that NZBoro1 would have done the same. As it is such an obvious winner.

I will give NZBoro1 a bit more time to post his other answers if he wishes to do so.

So as I said earlier the results will be a published a little later today.

Watch this space.....

Oh b***r. Count me outon this. Sorry, got totally side tracked walking in the Bush with daughter number 3.
.have a good time and love watching the vids
Hi,

Have just sent you a message. Happy to give you some time to have a quick look at the video and post your guesses. As said above I am processing the results on the basis of you choosing the same top video. So you will get 4 points at least. If you need a bit of time to make your other two picks just left me know.
